The
baidu page needs the
Shockwave plugin.
The Baidu page will gave me the link in a new (_blank) window.
I/You click download, install without even closing K-Meleon, then click about: plugins (Submenue under help opens a page that tells You what plugins are found) to activate the new plugin. Then click refresh and the Baidu page loads with the film. Voila You can see it like me
K-Meleon uses the Netscape compatible version of the plugin that can be used by all Browsers (Firefox, Opera, Safari...) except IE (newer than 5.5 with SP2 - that is when MS changed from Netscape plugin model to activeX). When XP is installed MS only installs the activeX plugin for IE
. On Windows older than XP You may find the Netscape plugin still in the IE plugin folder
p.s. Some content is not handled by the browsers directly but by a helper application so You also sometimes need to download and install them. Examples are Java from Sun, Real player, Acrobat or Foxit PDF Reader or Codecs for Media Player. Good pages like Baidu may already provide You a link to the helper applcation in an extra window. I have Codecs and Java but I did not yet have shockwave on this new PC
