Do I need to uninstall K-Meleon 1.1.5, then install K-M 1.1.6 or will the updater update needed files without my having to uninstall the entire old K-M version?

No it isn't, you don't need unistall, you can download K-Meleon 1.1.6 in .7z file and unzip it over your current K-Meleon 1.1.5 folder (overwrite all files).

You can also use the setup without uninstall.
