do this:

go to edit> preferences (F2)

in preferences select finding websites(under browsing)

click on the 'search engines' tab
click add button

in the add search engine buffer, enter these values:
caption: Minus Google
URL: http://www.startupbin.com/google-google/search.php?cx=013624267394337592694%3A1i_jpk_znwu&cof=FORID%3A9&ie=UTF-8&sa=&q=

click ok
now click on the web search tab:
click add entry button
select Minus Google from the drop down menu

if you want minus google to be your default search engine, do this:
click on the url bar tab (still under finding websites)
check when a typed url fails to load , consult a search engine...
and in the search engine drop down menu select 'minus google'

nice link by the way..thanks

@disrupted

does this really work? I must be doing something wrong. After following your instructions, I attempted to use the minus google search engine by selecting it from the little world icon drop down, but instead of getting a result for my search, I was routed directly to the StarUpBin Homepage with a "nothing found message". I tried it both with that long url you posted and the url below with the same results.

http://www.startupbin.com/google-google/

If you make a bookmark of the above link, it takes you directly to the minus google search engine ???????

hi zoo, it's working fine with me.. use only the long url because it's the one that queries the search word.

maybe you didn't copy it all or maybe my url had an error, try again and this time just open the search engines tab, select 'minus google' and click the edit button

make sure to enter this url:

http://www.startupbin.com/google-google/search.php?cx=013624267394337592694%3A1i_jpk_znwu&cof=FORID%3A9&ie=UTF-8&sa=&q=test

it's a hyperlink this time searching the word 'test', open it in a new tab and copy the url from the addressbar, copy the whole string and paste it in the url for minus google, remove the test#726 part and make sure that the end string of the url is this:
&q=

hopefully this time it will work
