that's interesting.. perhap.rs smiling smiley related to firewall and borwser and not website specific. what's your firewall and if possible; can you take a snapshot of the prompt?

Here we go.

The allow checkmark is merely the way the dialogue popup first appears before selecting the action required.

Happens with either K-M ccfme or 1.5.1 official version, plus Maxthon/Theworld browsers. I've been using Outpost here for years and no prompt with any of them until recently. I didn't change the Outpost version before prompts began.

It's not just this pc happens with my other one also.
If I were to set a default action for this site with regard to the prompt then I wouldn't get any more. I have used the "block once" option here so far because I was interested in seeing if it persisted for subsequent visits and what it might be?

I don't get the prompt when I visit other areas of sourceforge.net

that's pretty weird.. i checked the source code of kmeleon's front page, there's nothing strange there or calling activex. sorry, arrow.. i can't find any logical explanation why your firewall is prompting that message.

maybe gunter is planting a virus on the forums every now and then grinning smiley

edit: you said you never had that problem before? maybe the new phorum with added nonfunctional scripts like colour-coding etc.. might be their javascripts or php codes misinterpreted by the firewall as activex?

I think that your firewal is confusing with the K-Meleon web page code to language selection. This preference is saved in a cookie, but any ActiveX. I think this code use perl or cgi code, not ActiveX.

I have a firewall with ActiveX block enable and K-Meleon web page works fine without any prompt or warning message.

Is it possible that MS or the FW has issued an update to permit you a "better Internet experiece" and over did it, perhaps probable if you are using the Windows Firewall? In any case, I would set it to Allow/Default and forget it.

Thanks for your responses and for checking the code,
If I also disable javascript and cookies it still happens but as you suggest I am sure it is just an Outpost foible,

I've set it to allow and will forget about it! smiling smiley
