seems so.. looks nice though.
speaking of favicons, for some sites i don't get the favicon displayed in the urlbar or tabbutton etc.. dunno why, i know it's not a useragent thing..
sites that display their favicons normally in firefox but not kmeleon:
google
bbcnews
yahoo

not that i care about favicons.. just thought i'd mention it

AFAIRemember kko answered that K-Meleon only uses them when HTML code for them is correct.

ah.. kmeleon the picky browser smiling smiley .. that would make sense
you know more and more, kmeleon just sounds like the exact opposite of ie:

ie: will not accept standard-compliant(atleast before version 7) and likes trident-compliant

km: will only accept standard-compliant, wrong code go outside!

You would expect companies like Google and Yahoo to have their code right. After all the net is where they make their living. When I worked on bmp files for SearchIcon.kmm I assumed they did not have an icon, because none showed up. And let's face it, if it does not work in KM, I am not looking elsewhere.

The favicons and the favourites plug-in is acting weirdly lately.

I've experienced many times favicons that loads wrongly, for example loading one page with the favicon from other absolutely unrelated webpage.

One of the favicon related bugs is this:

http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/bugs/viewbug.php?bugid=1056

May the favorites plug-in should be revised?
May it had been affected by some of the 1.5 series changes?

Not for me ...

:-(

After introducing this on prefs.js:

pref("browser.chrome.site_icons", true);
pref("browser.chrome.favicons", true);
pref("browser.chrome.load_toolbar_icons", 2);

It worked, but only the first time, after restarting KM it stopped to show the Google favicon.

that's strange.. i restarted and the setting sticked.. maybe your prefs.js is read -only? or kmeleon hasn't write privileges to the profile folder?

The files are not read only for sure, the prefs from the profile in use automatically got deleted the 3 mentioned lines when I close KM.

I'm using only IE favourites, I have the opera and netscape plug-ins deactivated.

May this be the reason?

Make sure that You have writing privileges.
Here it works for bookmarks.html, tabs bar, URL bar.
Hope it is like that after a restart smiling smiley

I use a test page where I am sure about the code (I made it myself smiling smiley)

Yes I've writting privileges.

It's quite strange because I can see other favicons, but not the one in Google, and it keeps deleting those 3 lines everytime I close KM.

Please modify this preferences from about: plugin page, and not directly in prefs.js file.
If you are adding this prefs in your prefs.js file this are wrong, because in your profile prefs.js file you must use "user_pref();" instead "pref();".
"pref();" is used in K-Meleon\defaults\pref files.

It worked!

Thanks Desga2, you were right, I was using pref instead of user_pref, now it works correctly.

Isn't it a bit strange that all this is not activated by default?
Does anybody know why?

PS. Curiously, this line:

user_pref("browser.chrome.site_icons", true);

Is deleted from the prefs file, may be automatically deleted because it's activated by default while the other 2 lines are not activated by default?
