Hello!

This is something crazy. My browser crashes if I start writing an url starting with an s. So if I put in spiegel.de for example, it crashes. Some other url including s is no problem.

Did anyone hear of something like that before?

Very strange. Does it do it if you put www. in front of it (www.speigel.de)?

Try tapping your ctrl, alt, and shift keys a few times (both the left & right ones), perhaps one of them is "stuck", and is sending some strange hotkey signal when you try to type the "s".

I did not have any trouble with spiegel.de. I am using KM 1.5.2 on XP-SP3. What browser version and what operating system are you using? I have domain autocompletion on.

With www.spiegel.de, it works.

Yes, shortly before it crashes.

Work fine for me. Seems a Spyware action.
Tried to disable this:
Edit -> Page Search -> Find As You Type

Also tried to delete URL bar history and cache:
Tools -> Privacy -> Clear Data

Check your configuration in "Domain Autocompletion":
Preferences (F2) -> Finding Websites -> Domain Autocompletion
and check "Keyword Autosearch" that you have a corrected Search engine URL.

Can you post a screen capture with crash error?

I don't think it is some spyware because I did several deep scans with different scanners before short time.

P.S:

There comes no error notice or report. K-Meleon just shuts down, when restarted, it asks to open the tabs again because K-Meleon was shut down unnormal.

You might do a second install of KM and see if the problem happens there. You could then copy parts of current profile to new profile one by one and check each time to see if the problem comes back. Only way that I know to narrow down the possibilities.

Before making a new install, just create a new profile.

Also, where is loacted your profile ? User data ? Perhaps, in this case a problem with an install over an older one ?
