Can the Google Advertising Cookie Opt-out Plugin for Firefox http://www.google.com/ads/preferences/plugin/
be also made to work for kmeleon (1.1.x and/or 1.5.x)? Many thanks.

the plugin may work but it's not needed at all

you can completely block doubleclick cookies in kmeleon cookie exceptions like this:

you can also block them in hosts file which is what i prefer, open hosts file in notepad and add these entries: (copy n paste)

edit: i don't understand this plugin, almost every browser can give you control over what cookies to accept or block(including firefox) and you can always block the entire site in hosts.. this plugin seems to be google's "save face" approach since its' "do no evil" policy is becoming more and more questionable:

I'll paste the entries in my hosts file. A much better way for sure.
Thanks for that pointer/reminder.

soccer, there's a problem i just noticed with the hosts file approach.. atleast with one server. the bbcnews flash videos connect to ad.de.doubleclick.net to initiate the player so if it's blocked in hosts; you can't play bbc video content. what i know for certain, it's always trying to load first from ad.de not from the other doubleclick subdomains.. regardless of your ip(country) or browser, it's always ad.de.. could be doubleclick's headquarter server for flash ads.

open hosts and just remove this entry
ad.de.doubleclick.net
