Looking to have more choices for KM 1.5.2 skins. I like Phoenity well enough, but there are others to choose from.

Anybody got favorites? Or old ones that should be updated and have not been?

There are skins but they are all the same layout it is hard to come up with something that looks different so I keep it the way it is. It is fairly easy to make a skin after you do it the first time. See what you can come up with. I got a couple that aren't very good but the skin topics have inspired me to maybe make a few and post them here

the best skin for k-meleon is not only a skin, it´s a MOD called K-MELEON CCF ME 0.094.

Yes, I am definitely a "fanboy" of Early Blue! <weak grin> I was looking through Alain's lists and the Wiki and just recall that a lot of what once worked is no longer listed... Probably work just fine, just have been forgotten. Rapido is one who has been working hard on new and updating skins and boxed classic is one I've used too. Iggy's update on Klassic is a keeper. Right now I have Early Blue, Klassic2 (Yogi's change), Boxed Classic and of course, Phoenity. I remember in the past that I liked Nautilus, but dumped it for Early Blue!

BTW. I have updates for most older skins.

There may be 0.7 or earlier skins in resource sections. Originally the skin code was language specific. AFAIR last unofficial German 0.9 issues by rumpel used Nautipolis and clickfish used Gecko-Eye which I attached here. I do not search for skins in other languages.

Dorian made that the skin codes auto translate now (provided the skin makers use phrases from default skins - some skins do not - but You only notice when You set to a non English language).

Is there a standard list of items that a skin must have to be up to date? I use the Klassic skin and I know there two more items in the privacy bar on Phoenity that Klassic does not have. I think Yogi has created some buttons to address that. I would like to help bring Klassic up to date but I don't know what the standard should be.

No standard items: the person that makes or updates a skin does us a favor.
We either use a skin as is or correct the items.
No looking into the mouth of a gift horse.

Generally auto translating items use

On MouseOver most errors show up as English text

You could also make other skins with items that ship their own kml like a macro.
But I have never done this since that needs to use the more difficult original installer-maker by alain.

You could also make skins that ship extra macros.

I use a skin-installer-maker simplified by desag2. Guenter said to me: [English with German accent]"Make it so that even dummies like me can use it"[/English with German accent], and I did it. :-) (based in original Alain's script)

The only skin I use is Phoenity(Large) because it's cool, clear and austere
I dislike any pseudo 3-D, shining, psycho-coloured skins.

Yes, your work is very good. What I was trying do was find the way to have "Animation" and "Colors" put into the "privbar_green.bmp" and "privbar_red.bmp" files for the Klassic skin. The macros for that are available because these items appear under the "Tools" menu. I use the Klassic skin and I just wish it to remain up to date so that it is shipped with KM when a user downloads. ALL the necessary buttons should be available even if some are commented out.

How to add new buttons that will auto translate.

Without creating extra language files like myskin.kml.

For which the skin adaptors have to find a translator for all languages where users want support (or better - that the adoptor wants to support as his gift horse) .

Just in case my lazy idea is interesting for any skin adaptors.

When I added unique new (often used by me) buttons to some of my favorite skins.

I searched for a useable macro and string.
I searched & found auto translating strings in the German kmeleon.kml.

I used the bold English.

Any other or the untranslated translation resource will IMHO do as scavenge resource also.

The bold strings were looked up that way.

Englisch ist auch nur meine Viertsprache und daher nicht so doll.
Da sind kleine Missverständnisse so gut wie vorprogrammiert :-)
Allerdings verstehe ich die wenige Computertechnische Fachbegriffe die ich kenne englisch am ehesten. Vielleicht bevorzuge ich auch deswegen des Öfteren die englische Benutzeroberfläche.

I've made some small cosmetically changes to the updated PrivacyBar bitmap of the Klassic skin just for the case it will be shipped with K-M. The changes are indeed small but IMO it looks now a tad better.
