Thank you for the upload Aimfiend. There is a corrupted file in the batch. I redownload and get the same problem. :s Do you get this problem?

I will make an Unofficial Gecko update (not only for KMLite) when Seamonkey 1.1.19 will be released. This will be the last Gecko update for KMLite because it isn't compatible with new 1.9.x Geckos and new K-Meleon 1.6 versions.

Is it because KMLite will not update to Gecko 1.9.x? How can it be done?
Is it because of something Al used on K-Ninja and KMLite?
Or is it because he thinks he owns some copyright on K-Meleon that he does not?
Perhaps there is some way around this problem?

Because both exes are made for GRE 1.8.x and will not run with GRE 1.9.x.

You'd need someone to make small code changes e.g. path to profiles and recompile Dorian's code adaptations for GRE 1.9 for the K-Meleon.exe for You.

While You cannot update You could customize a K-Meleon like Al did.

You can use Dorian's K-Meleon.exe and apply the changes in macros, menus, plugins, components and chrome additions that Al used. That will give You a K-Meleon 1.6 with KMLite features - only the path to profiles will be ./K-Meleon instead...

I tried with KMLite: it is possible for users.

If you copy your KMlite/K-Ninja skin to K-Meleon the rest of application is the same.

1.) IMHO no feature that needs more than a copy & delete job in the directories.
I did not find any functional improvements in the K-Meleon core. The core developed by Dorian is shared by all: CCF, KMlite....

2.) It is more than only the skin that is customized - but all changes are IMHO customisations and for this reason they are in reach for users.

The changes can be done by file compare and transferring the changes by hand, editing of cfg, kmm and js. And as said before: a copy job with the files will also do. Users that are interested can copy Al's changed files with altered menus, macros and settings to 1.6.

IMHO: Maintaining Al's changes in the exe would be a waste of time. The different icon and path are mere eye candy (at best). Al had better contributed the time he spend on it to support the official project.

& @ K-Ninjaized You can not make a poll whether KMLite or Ninja will be maintained. Both are abandonware of Al.

I will not place my spare time that I spend for this project at Your vote/poll.
My guess no one else will either. This project has no spare manpower - no spare time for a fork or whatever it is called in English. & I comment here only because Ninja/Lite can be regarded as & are customized K-Meleons.

You can only load the job to maintain the KMlite and Ninja customizations on Your own shoulders. You do not need a development environment and specialized dev's knowledge for that.

for the many novices among us to use to modify K-Meleon to look like KMLite
and K-Ninja? Any help is welcome.

aimfiend, the files are now deleted, could you re-upload those files to another service like box.net? Or, if anyone has access to the old ZIP files for either KMLite or K-Ninja, could they upload them somewhere. I'm looking for the ZIP files b/c I'd rather not install KMLite just to examine the diffs b/t that and K-Meleon. It'd be nice if this could eventually be turned into an extension instead of a separate install. :cool:

Nox, this is a good KMLite link. It is just the installer extracted from the WinRar
archive. Will look through things for any and all old K-Ninja and KMLite stuff to
upload. Maybe others will do so too as your suggestion is a great idea. :drool:

uploaded by aimfiend. It seems that it had almost every version of KMLite
and K-Ninja ever made. Also had the old and newer themes.
