Hi, i just learnt that a new version of k-meleon (1.5.3) is available.

i don't have k-meleon installed on my pc, i just launch the .exe file every time i use it.
i've got more than 50 bookmarks in k-meleon now.

but if i want to use the new version now, it will be without bookmarks, am i right?

in short, how can i use the new, updated version of k-meleon keeping all of my previous bookmarks at the same time?

No.

If You chose a setup that changes bookmarks and profiles location
You can misplace them. Like it happened in the other post.
But You can find them again.

Bookmarks.html is a file that can be copied around; You can use that for backups!

You can Edit Preferences Netscape Bookmarks and set the new K-Meleon to use the old bookmarks.html in its current place. There the old and the new K-Meleon can use it and the file's bookmarks stay synchronized. I use the bookmarks.html of an old 1.1.4 in its original location with K-Meleon 1.1.4, 1.5.2 & 1.5.3.

And since a bookmarks file is just another html file You can bookmark it. I do that to old bookmarks.html that are collections of links / in most cases it prevents accidental damage because You cannot write it as linked file.

i found the html file of my bookmarks,and i opened it to have a look, but why it doesn't show all of my bookmarks (more than 50) but only this? (see image attacched)?

Show me the URL of Your bookmarks.html.

Else I assume You found the one in
K-Meleon install folder./defaults/profile/bookmarks.html.
K-Meleon copies that to a brand new profile.

K-Meleon has two default places where profiles and used bookmarks.html can be.

Old default used when You deselect Multi User support on install.
That is in K-Meleon install folder. This page by Holger Metzger only knows that old one.
For example portable versions use the old location.

Current default location. Selected when You change nothing during install. You use that when You have one K-Meleon install for all users. And each has data in his windows profile.

%apdata%/K-Meleon/... Right next to that pages Beonex, Mozilla ... profile location.
