anyone check out microsofts new search engine? It must have just went live. I like how if you search for a word in a site and you go to the right of the result it gives you a highlight of what is written about it.

Looks promising. Just had a documentary shown tonight on BBC TV called "Who's watching you?" Glad to say Googles underhand methods have now been exposed to the UK public. (Bearing in mind that the vast number of internet users are unaware of Googles activities)

The load speed and site search features of Bing seem impressive.

Does any one know if there are any spyware, or other security problems associated with Bing?

no it's safe to use..there is no sypware or require you to download anything. if you mean prescanning links with antiviruses like google and yahoo..so far i haven't seen that..maybe they do and they just don't display the 'harmful' pages.. i don't like link warnings.. i've went to few scareware software sites when using google and google flagged them as safe..while sometimes telling you a site is harmful when it isn't at all.. same thing is yahoo.

you don't really have to worry much about that with bing because the results are very specific..you'll notice that bing will always yield lesser pages than google or yahoo because their main policy is just to display very closely tied pages to your query so naturally all bogus/malware sites if will be filtered out. some probably won't like that but if you know exactly what you're looking for and you're after specific page..bing is very good.. the disadvantage of that though is sometimes you find a very interesting website that has nothing to do with what you were searching for..there's lesser chance of this happening with bing.

techies and people who don't want to waste their time with lots of unrelated pages in their results will benefit most from bing.. and if you want a quick info about something without actually surfing to a website then bing is exactly what you need

Doe's anyone know of anymore of these 'cluster' search engines such as this one? Any comments?

i tried clusty, the preview thing is nice but it seems their indexing is old and haven't been updated in a while.. that's usually an indication of dying search engine(like yahoo).. but they are good when searching for old files..engines with old index are better because those old websites are usually neglected by updated indexing
