MS now writing FF extensions

Microsoft is writing extensions for Firefox and putting then in updates without telling the users.

I am so very glad that I use KM for all my browsing.

I heard that on the day Gates left MS he switched to Kmeleon saying:"Enough crap! Let's play now!" grinning smiley

Just kidding.

We knew about M$ updating Windows without users' consent.
However fiddling with a third party application seems to be a novum nonetheless.

i think i know why they're doing that. it's because all their patches and updates are now linked to .net and realising ie is no longer the only 'dominant' browser for windows users; they want to attach the .net version into ff useragent string.

for e.g. i was searching for an xps viewer to read bing's development notes which was only available in that format.. when i went to ms site..they displayed the link for it but instead of allowing me to download the actual xps viewer, the link was for the .net 3 setup(which is required by their xps viewer).. so if they read in my user agent that is was available they will link me directly to it because i meet the requirements.. doesn't really justify what they're doing because they could simply say'make sure you have this and that installed'..
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/xps/viewxps.mspx

i wasn't going to install .net 3.0 so i found a good 3rd party program to view xps..it's written in c++ and no requirements for .net
http://www.softwareimaging.com/products-services/XPSViewer/index.asp

it requires xml 6.0 and ms imaging components which can be downloaded there if you don't want to install ms os validation thing:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/f/1/ff178bb1-da91-48ed-89e5-478a99387d4f/wic_x86_enu.exe

xps format is a mafuka(compressed) odt and xml files.. typical ms EEE

It seems that they have changed it now.
I was able to download with both K-Meleon and Opera with default UAs.
Additionally I was informed that my OS (w2k) isn't supported:

I don't have Java installed (not only but mainly for security reasons) nor do I intend to install .NET (mainly for the same reasons)

Although I do have .Net (1, 2, 3, & 3.5!!!), I have no Java and I feel exactly like Yogi... such frameworks should be entirely optional; I understand why coders like them, but for me small (and lean) is beautiful.
