K-Meleon and Portable Thunderbird

I usually worked with Portable Firefox as my browser. Hyperlinks in emails were opened in it. Then I discovered K-Meleon. And because K-Meleon works much more faster than Firefox I decided to deinstall Firefox and use K-Meleon instead.

However, hyperlinks in email, read with my email reader Portable Thunderbird, are not opened anymore (in K-Meleon). How can I let Portable Thunderbird know that it has to go to K-Meleon if I want to open an internet page?

Thanks very much for your help.

P.S. Portable Thunderbird and K-Meleon are both installed unto a harddisk in my pc.

Either edit mimeTypes.rdf of Thunderbird or make K-Meleon system default = You run setdefault. K-Meleon must be made content handler for the protocols.

Thanks guenter for your reply.

I found a way to solve the problem by changing settings in Windows Explorer, Tools, Folder Options. Http and Https files are now opened through K-Meleon.

Hello,
I want to set K-Meleon as my Standard Browser,but setdefault.exe doesn't work....
I run setdefault.exe properly but SWare Iron (old Browser) still remains Standard.

I can go to System Controls\Software\Programcontrols and Standards, but selecting K-Meleon doesn't work, although it appears in the list...

@Developers:
Do you have a solution for this Bug?
I use Win XP Sp3

I found a workaround:
"Set program access and defaults" doesn't work, so I opened Internet Explorer /Internet Options set Internet Explorer as default Browser and then ran again setdefault.exe

And Voila, it works! Seemed to be a bug of Chromium!

God damn!
It still doesn't work.
Now in my Startmenu K-Meleon is displayed as standard browser, but IE opens all Websites.

Any solutions?

Thanks, with this application it kind of works....
The problem remaining is, that whenever I open an Link from another programm, that launches K-Meleon, it then opens a new windows instead of a new tab...
