If I would like to have a faster KM startup, which settings I would need to "tweak"?
Probably disabling some Macros|Plugins ? Which ones?
I'm using profiles (default, plus two more), are them a cause?

I think disrupted said the plugins are based different in KM then in FF that they use no resources. I know ABP probably does if you have a huge list. Other then that all I can tell you to do is use the loader.exe. I got a little more memory so I leave it running all the time now. Wrote a paragraph and probably haven't even answered your question

Thanks for your reply, and yes, I have ABP installed. What I noticed is that some of those filters are never used.

You can remove redundant ABP filters using http://adblockplus.org/en/redundancy_check.
AFAIK macros and plugins don't make K-Meleon slow, only extensions, that use chrome parts - even unused - do.
