holaservers servers seems to be always down lately so signed up with another free host

any km user can use that site to upload their snapshots, files, crash dumps.. macros etc(no offensive material)
the dummy front page was uploaded so the host doesn't know the site is being used mainly for file sharing.

site details:
ftp address: ftp.kportal.clix5.com
username: kportal
password: (same one used with holaservers)

when uploading files, do not upload to the root directory or files won't be accessible..you must upload to this directory first 'public_html' (that's the actual root) you can create personal subdirectories under that directory
e.g public_html/[user_name]

hostecs.com they also support php so you can host your forum

edit: by the way if you're gonna signup with them, it's not an instant activation..they send you a confirmation right away but it takes about 24 hours till they process your new account..but that's not bad since they kinda ensure no bots/spammers use their hosts

just temporary..they sent an email about server thingies going on..now it's working fine. please add help etc and snapshots to main page so it becomes a real website.

I am just about ready to add a help system. I need a couple of more days to complete the first stage of it. How do I put a link on your main page? Do I have access there?

Additional question - Do we have a size limit on this site? It would be helpful to include a jpeg image in one of the items, but this one image is 2 times the size of the entire current system as it stands now. Nine files total 21 kb but the one image is 48 kb.

you can upload directly to root(replace front page if you want.. the file must be namedf index.htm then or you can add links to the front page like e.g:

tutorials
bugs
known issues etc
and link those to inside pages. this will be good so any user can add therir pages from the front pages..siria can make links to the backgorund and rapido and jsnj to skin tutorials etc

if you want to use same layout.. i made a template to make it easy for anyone to use but you can make your own design ofcourse or change colours

Basically it's a great idea, but I admire your limitless confidence in people ;-) There are way too many bad guys out there, and each can delete everything with one click. Or worse yet, load up some nonsense, really offensive or dangerous stuff, and perhaps no one of the 'good' guys would even notice in a long time *sigh*

The site appears to be down again. I may go a different route.
