Just how to translate "Extensions" in german, without sounding too silly or complicated???
Browser-Erweiterung?? Find ich doof und kompliziert... Erweiterungen-Manager? AUTSCH... Wie übersetzen das denn andere Programme?? "Plugins" heißt es ja oft, aber das ist hier glaub schon für was anderes reserviert... Firefox nennts auf Deutsch auch "Add-on"... wär kürzer, aber hab ich vorher auch nirgends gehört... http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Add-on... Modul wär vielleicht halbwegs... Zusatzmodul?? Fremdmodul??

siria.. i don't know german but i think erweiterung is the right word for extension? zusatzmodul sounds more for media plugins like wmp or realplayer and i don't like using 'addon' cause ist for firefox.. does erweiterungen-manager sound very bad? maybe gunter can tell us what's best..gunter knows all those problematic tech terminolgies

if all goes well..i'll start on capture plus locale support in next few days

Zusatzmodul-Manager is best, since it organizes additional moduls.

I used K-Meleon Erweiterungsmanager but siria's Zusatzmodul-Manager (German language accepts coining words like that, it sounds familiar) will be understood.

p.s. We want the translation that best fits the meaning in the target language.
Literal translation are often sub prime.

Erweiterung - in a way, yes, but in plural it's "Erweiterungen", and that alone is already 5 syllables, add to it the manager that makes it a 8 (!!) syllables word, uff... That just sounds (to me) really bumpy...
Zusatzmodul is also a very universal word, not restricted to computer stuff. Existed long before, can also be all sorts of hardware, like closet or car "addons" or whatever ;-) Both words give me pretty much the same impression in the computer world, the shorter just sounds more fluent and elegant... well, to me...
I'd also like to get other opinions.

You did also capplus? Oh, if you work on it again, could you perhaps fill something in it's ini? Because (on my win98se) it refused to work, as long as the ini was empty. Took a while to figure it out, and only after I had opened sitehoter directly, once, capplus suddenly worked too

thanks siria for the translation and capture plus bug..it's strange because it didn't give problems on 98.. the ini file is for the path where the captured images will be saved and will be used as parameter for nirsiteshoter as well as setting save path for winsnap.. in case bad ini or missing..the script is supposed to create new one..or display empty path and user can change it by selecting new path..it's possible that something might have went haywire with 98 with an empty ini..i'll check it out when i do the locale support update.. thanks again siria, really appreciate it

IIRC, capplus "seemed" to work on my 98se, no error (except it can't select a region, but that's normal). Only when looking into the folder, there was no image saved anywhere...
Now remember another thing, I wished the default setting were the one with the automatic numbering, so that it doesn't overwrite the previous snapshot without warning...
Hmm, btw, would it be difficult to add a menu entry to open siteshoter directly..? (There are more options)

Especially since I communicate K-Meleon things often in English.

That firefox uses it, is no reason.

We want to administrate the additional extensions, on a browser that comes with gadgets by default. Your choice is a commonly used word also...

yes, very easy to add entry to open siteshotr.. untll i start working on capplus and check the problems with winsnap and 98 etc..download this macro and save it in your macros folder..

WHOW - it wasn't really that urgent, but cool anyway, THANX!! Now I can finally click a toolbar button in KM directly and don't need anymore to start siteshoter externally, and the right-click menu works perfectly too That was just my biggest prob, that capplus can't make selections in win98, but siteshoter can automatically open the capturee afterwards in irfanview to crop. And personally I use also the hundred other options, but think those surely look way too scary for 80% of other KM-users, so they will greatly prefer the much nicer capplus interface
