what is the best method to install k-meleon to have max acceleretion on a very slow laptop with only 128mb ram for k-meleon 1.6.

1)on Windows 2000?

2) on a minimalist linux distibution like(tiny core) with xorg and the wifi drivers and the wine to run k-meleon?

and then? i have to install flash player to wine? and how i can do that? is the newest flash coMbatable with wine and k-meleon on Wine?

meaby i can work with native flash on linux to k-meleon on Wine?

No idea, sorry smiling smiley
Just not sure if you suggest Win2000 only because of that official minimum windows version for KM1.6? But un-officially it's also possible to run it on a KernelEx-ed Win98SE, with a few minor bugs like partly messed favicons (some transparency prob). Admittedly not all machines work right with KernelEx, but it runs fine on mine and allows to run KM1.6beta quite fine too. RAM is 256 MB here, and CPU 850 MHz.
But no clue about speed comparisons.

128 mb of ram is really very little, and I doubt
that Windows 2000 would work reasonably, although
I never tried it and can not confirm it.

Tinycore would be a possibility. When the desktop
opens, it consumes only 35 mb of ram. But it is
really a complete barebone distro, and everything has
to be installed additionally. It can be installed on hard
disk, which would be necessary, because 128 mb is not
enough to work with K-Meleon and wine in ram only.
The installation would have to be done before adding
applications. This can only be done manually, which
may be difficult for many.Instructions here :

http://tinycorelinux.com/install.html

An alternative could be Slitaz, which has a Slitaz installer
script included. The normal version would be already
144 mb in ram, which would be too big, but there is
a low ram version available, which uses only 119 mb ram, here :

http://mirror.slitaz.org/iso/3.0/flavors/slitaz-3.0-loram.iso

The password for the given user tux is empty, just
press the Enter key.
To become administrator in a console terminal, type su
and Enter, then the password root.
This is also the password demanded in the Slitaz installer.
When on the harddisk, you can download K-Meleon and install
it for example in /home/tux .
Then wine should be downloaded and installed.
Best would be version 1.1.23, which is the last packed
as tgz, higher versions are packed as txz, which
may not be supported by Slitaz.
as user tux in console(space between wget and address) :

wget http://surfnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/wine/wine-1.1.23-i486-1kjz.tgz

Install wine as root :

su and Enter key password root, then

tar -C / -zxf /home/tux/wine-1.1.23-i486-1kjz.tgz

The flash for Linux does not work in wine.
To install flash in wine, download install_flash_player.exe
for other Windows browsers(not IE), to /home/tux/.
Install it in a console as user tux, first

wine install_flash_player.exe /install

then

wine install_flash_player.exe

This should enable Flash for K-Meleon.
I hope that you succeed.
