These problems are listed here, and for each, I give the way to remove it : Extension or wine version.

1) Running K-meleon on a wine version under 1.6 fails
=> Install of the needed dlls to upgrade a 1.4 wine version to 1.6. Have a look to this thread

2) mailto links aren't working
=> tuxhelper is now included in K-Meleon 74.0 setup. Just use right-click instead of left-click.

3) Sendto (url, page, and text) don't work
=> tuxhelper is now included in K-Meleon 74.0 setup

4) Some wrong icons (bad transparency)
=> A modified skin AuraAlpah(CnotT) is now included in K-Meleon 74.0 setup

5) Impossible to open a downloaded file
=> Install a tool named km-open. After some tests, I hope some guys will do, I will ask to Dorian to include it in K-Meleon setup.
Guenter has been able to make mimetype editor to work with K-Meleon 74, so I have package the extension which will be very helpfull for linux users.
Download it here and use it in conjunction with km-open.

6) It very difficult (about impossible) to move and set toolbars location
=> I have a solution which isn't really easy, and I will explain it, even the bug is always here ...
Seen the only solution I found here

7) Hiding toolbars doesn't work
=> No solution ... it's a weird bug ...

did set the browser preferences to my usual windows settings. exciting that it works! without fuss. toolbars no control to configure. this just a quick test for ease of install and function. WineHQ indicates fedora special versions (like this) of wine will not be discussed in the true wine forum. Application selection under wine is Windows 7.

found instruction, control, insert (U+0023: Number Sign) within Edit> Configutation> Toolbars for desired toolbar. This one left throbber fixed position and worked around throbber.

Yes, it's really a pain when throbber changes of line ...

I finally set it manually ,and make a skin.js that I put in all the skins folders.

I put it here. You can replace the one in you skin folder, and adapt it to your need.
I think it's also necessary also to remove all the lines concerning the skin (kmeleon.toolband...) in prefs.js. Do it k-meleon not running.
