yep, thanks to fed-up k-meleon, orca, seamonkey, flock, galeon and camino users spoofing the ua using firefox

"Many browsers and download managers spoof a different user agent string to the web server to prevent erroneous or malicious browser sniffing which could result in receiving broken or incompatible code, or being completely blocked, and thus increasing the statistics for other browsers"

i've tried it out when you first bookmarked it, it's not just a ff clone and it does run faster and has better memory usage..but still..xul, gunter also made a review about it somewhere

the developer's own tests:
http://www.palemoon.org/technical.htm

if someone likes firefox then it certainly is something to consider, i know if i had to use firefox i will no doubt use palemoon instead

dolphin..3d browsers, they are useless tongue sticking out smiley

So, Pale Moon is the best Gecko+XUl browser. Is this you're telling me? Better than Orca? Does Orca even have Xul?

The developer's own tests: real url is this

well.. orca wasn't written in xul but it's one weird browser..it's skinned api, not sure though in what language but oddly many parts were kept in xul.

i consider orca an incomplete product, maybe not a "clone" like flock but more like a shell to gecko just like their avant was a shell to trident.

orca uses just the frame ui as own(window+toolbar)..the rest is all firefox even the context menus and that's why they have better compatibility with ff addons they even took the chrome as is..basically what andersson did or needed was to be able to use most of the avant plugins with the gecko engine and still use many ff addons.. i don't think the product is good or complete in anyway, they should have invested in own chrome and worry less about firefox addons or maybe that was his plan but got tired along the way and gave up and decided to keep firefox chrome and all contextual menus in xul and just do the outer frame, i don't believe he actually approached his goals in making a real responsive complete windows api from the ground up

to understand this in comparison with kmeleon.. in kmeleon the only gecko part, or non xul(besides the preferences) is the rendering engine what is displaying the page..everything else is vc++, when you right click inside the page etc..you don't have any xul parts ..

in orca the only non-xul part is the main window frame..the rest is all xul and not just that, taken without any chnages right from the firefox trunk.. everything inside that "frame ui" is just like firefox..plain old xul, right clicking inside the page etc you notice, if you change the skin in orca..the contextual menus do not because they are xul..you have to manipulate them the usual firefox way in userchrome.css but here's the funny and really weird part.. some commands trigger avant extensions opening their own menu or toolbars inside the page..so you get some bizarre mix of xul and non-xul at the same time.

i noticed this in their alpha and betas..but never thought this will actually be the final product but unfortunately it was. i think it's a botched browser and anyone who knows about software will never take it seriously.. you know, kinda like jack of all trades but master of none..this is pretty much orca

-
seamonkey is the better xul application.. the worst xul is songbird, media player/library and utter bollocks

google inspirations:

goona browser is a gecko-based browser written in c++ with skinned ui similar to google chrome and based on 1.9 trunk. the browser is quite responsive and uses own dialogs and menus and not reliant on any xul ui.

it's still a very raw alpha, with many functions not yet working and memory usage is a bit on the high side.. however goona can support np plugins, just copy any plugin to its root\xul runner\plugins and wit will automatically detect it.. flash runs without problems.

one of its few working functions and a very nifty one is a "site explorer' which displays the source code in a tree in a similar way to advanced html/css editors..you can even edit and preview your changes by clicking the "design tab".

skined applications, especially browsers are notorious for redraw bugs and unfortunately goona is no exception, however compared to orca or iron se..the redraw problems in goona are acceptable considering it's an alpha

very promising and if you like gecko and the wacky chrome look then you should watch this one
http://goonabrowser.sourceforge.net/en/index.html
download from http://sourceforge.net/projects/goonabrowser/

another google inspired browser but trident-based is lataza.
another skinned browser which has done a perfect job of mimicking the google chrome look. lataza is a full-featured and fully functional browser which was a joy to test. the browser has several shortcuts in the status bar to zoom, view google rank, alexa ratings, ad blocker, proxy configuration and an image capture

in it's options "window" which opens in a new tab in the browser or ala gecko style address tw:config (like the world browser, and it seems the browser has some of its roots in twb) you can change the colour of the ui by saturation and brightness sliders so compared to gogole chrome you din't need skins to change the colours to any shade you desire which makes a lot of sense in a skin like that

there are a lot of other options and amenities like mouse gestures, a built in task manager but one of its most impressive features is tab/window process manager.

this is a quite nice browser and its only drawback is the trident engine especially if you're using an old one like ie6.. if you like to keep and use this browser, then it's worth considering updating internet explorer to version 8 to give lataza its full potential.

though skinned, lataza did not suffer from any redraw bugs and suprising this impressive browser is released as alpha.. the chrome devs should learn a few things from mr. lataza when it comes to skinning apis
