new browser found: KYLO
(a new speciality browser which was officially released 3 days ago)

kylo is a gecko based(1.9.2) runs through the xul runner and free from any xul additives. fast launch..few seconds from cold, instantaneous from warm with acceptable memory usage and without any leaks.

kylo isn't a regular browser, it's made for widescreen displays or televison sets and has no regular interface or context menus..it always runs in fullscreen, similar to kiosk/web apps but with features specific for your telly.

installation is smart and considers vista/7 rights by
automatically choosing application data folder as the installation path if single user is selected.
additionally kylo prompts to install the flash plugin which is essential for online videos and streams which is one kylo's main target audience.

kylo devs have a long TOS but they have no privacy issues and do not collect your data in any way, it just seems they are somewhat paranoid when it comes to lawsuits and want to cover everything..part weird or funny part is about no liability surfing websites that might harm your pc.. which is common sense but maybe they felt the need to stress it due to their homepage which displays numerous news and video sites. one of the interesting parts is if you suggest a feature to the devs and they use it, don't expect them to pay for the idea..fair enough for a true freeware browser without any fishy deals with search engines or ad companies

the startup homepage connect.kylo.tv displays many websites by their logos instead of the regular thumbnails..which is a very smart idea especially with many websites where it's much easier to identify by logo than by a thumbnail

kylo incoorporates a built-in keyboard in case you are using a tv set without a connected kb , however it will also accept input from your keyboard.

there's a special search button which displays 3 engines, bing, yahoo, google and truveo video search. display size can be increased in options and you can also zoom any page by middle click and scroll

there aren't many settings to fiddle with ..keeping things perfect and simple for a browser with a special mission like kylo..there is however an option to disable js.

for some websites like youtube, the browser offers 2 display modes.. a dark background or the standard website default ..the kylo's dark mode is perfect for viewing videos.

kylo devs have also anticipated stupid websites blocking it like google and the other fucktards at facebook so like orca they have opted to use a fireshit user agent (3.6) instead of their own

the browser includes a crash reporter which is the only thing they write to the registry and can be disabled easily.. not that it would be needed much..browsing for more than an hour with kylo without a single glitch with good cpu and memory usage with the heaviest and crappiest of websites.

conclusion: a well thought-out browser with a clean and fresh look.. the perfect browser for video buffs or widescreen displays
