K-Meleon Banned in the U.S.A.?

I am searching for a thread about the ACTA treaty.

I suppose this thread will be deleted as the one I am looking
for apparently was. I cannot find it.

I do know that this year the U.S. government forced SourceForge to begin
blocking software downloading from certain 3rd world countries. Guess if
your country "might" have terrorists all of your citizens are deprived.

I am especially concerned as I have read the following
at http://forum.onemanga.com/showthread.php?p=4436913
and many other places.

The part that is so troubling that I have read in many places is
"ACTA requires that existing ISPs no longer host free software that has the possibility of including copyrighted media; this would substantially affect many sites that offer free software or host software projects such as SourceForge and Download.com. Most software we use on our computers are free. Are we to pay the price because of a misleading treaty?"

If anyone knows where to find the thread please direct me to it.

If this is posted improperly please, please correct it without deleting it.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi,

if you ARE inerested in reading about the "Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement" you better search for ACTA in Wikipedia - better than to follow the SPAM link in the above post.

@ Stephen: nobody in his right mind believes you're really in sorrow about ACTA as long as you pretend to link to important information - by linking to an obscure "online manga reading service"

Does anyone really think this will stop large-scale counterfeiting of good and services?

Assume that is right.

p.s. The original link is IMHO for a group's behalf that has to replicate or ship out of order to get hold of certain stuff (order = contracts made by owners that say this can be only shipped and sold to certain countries / which can be a problem [apart from high, monopolist prizing] if the rights owners do not sell in some locations at all).

So there are two sides to the coin and the bans only care for the rights holders', that may arbitrarily charge exorbitant prices or not sell in some countries at all.

So it is a real problem but nothing that should be in General - it is for Off Topic forum. IMHO we could relocate?

Please read this article: MPAA loves ACTA, but European Parliament "alarmed" by it
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2010/10/mpaa-likes-acta-while-european-parliament-alarmed-by-it.ars?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=rss

It is almost but not too late to stop this treaty that could destroy K-Meleon
and other open source projects forever. Please head over to this thread
http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?12,108630
and follow all the links to lodge your protests with the U.S. government and
the European Parliament.
