Hi! I tried this pdf viewer: http://www.pdfxviewer.com/ and it opens documents before you can blink with your eye. The portable works well at your harddrive as at the usb-stick. I have not tried the regular version but i'm gonna do so soon. Check it out.

PDFxViewer is indeed a very fine choice.
However those who just need a basic PDF viewer as fast as PDFxViewer while consuming less resources will opt for Foxit.
My early FoxitViewer (slightly modified German flavor of v1.2 <grins>) has 800kb and consumes 6.068KB opening the same PDF which for PDFxViewer needs more than 20.000kb.

By now I'm real happy with, also freeware and lightnin' fast, Sumatra PDF.

I like Foxit Reader. It's also have a Firefox plugin for viewing PDF inside browser and it works with K-Meleon
Using this plugin instead of Adobe Reader also prevents one funny bug from causing - earlier, when I opened PDFs with Adobe Reader plugin, the K-Meleon's window title text became a random symbol (different for each tab) instead of tab name, until restart

Beats me. I found it on my through my wanderings on a planet called web.
I have the Haihaisoft reader running. It is fast. I don't think I see any fill in forms stuff. But also I don't think I have a PDF with fill in blanks part.
I have just been looking at the PDF readers on my machine. I have Adobe Reader 9 and Haihaisoft. While it is true that Adobe has more features, I begin to wonder if those features are worth 195 MB. The reader 9 folder is 198 MB and Haihaisoft is 3.4 MB. If you are just interested in reading PDF files that you download or receive, the Haihaisoft product may provide all the features you require.
Size matters but its priority is low.
IMO there are far more important priorities to be taken into consideration.
- Rendering: ability, quality, speed
- Functionality (requirements may hugely differ among users)
- Manageability
- Usage of ressources
- Size
Since there is no perfect software, we end up sticking with what we think to be the best compromise, fitting best our needs
