Since the 1st of November, Imageshack will be only a premium site, affecting all free accounts images by blocking their access. In other words, Imageshack images posted by free accounts users won't be visible.
31st of January of 2016, will be finally deleted.
In the case of this forum, it will be important as there are quite a few images here from that hosting used as visual description (I used a lot until a couple of years, and I wasn't the only one).
This is the mail we are receiving:
Even if Imageshack was failing a lot in the last years, this is a bad kick in the ass to all their user base.
This just shows one obvious thing: every forum-based community should have its own image storage to not be dependent from third-parties policies and circumstances.
P.S. Never used imageshack as images from there have being disappeared time to time all the years I meet these links.
Yep, some year I can't remember, they had some kind of hardware error and since then the lost of pictures, absolutely random, became the usual behavior of Imageshack.
I was using it since almost its beginning (2004/2005) and since then I have tens of images missing.
Of course, it is only a sharing hosting and I have local backups/originals, but was/it is so sad.
Even premiums are now having problems.
I can't understand how they dare to be premium only with its poor service for "only"$48 a year:
$3.99 / month
or 37.99 / year

If you have a free account, have images that are linked to any sites, blogs or forums and want to continue to have images delivered to those pages, please convert to premium account here: https://imageshack.us/upgrade, for only $3.99/mo, you will continue to have unlimited storage and unlimited delivery of your images.
Free account holders will still be able to access their ImageShack accounts, and be able to download their images for a period of 3 months. You will be able to upgrade to a premium account at any point during that time to enable image delivery outside pages. If you chose not to upgrade, your account access will be discontinued by the end of January 31st, 2016, and your ImageShack account will be considered abandoned.
