Even if do not use macros from topic (for tests in clean assembly), if adblock module enabled in settings [F2], when browser start, and if in the profile folder exist adblock.txt (you can create it), all rules written inside it must be run.

I understand meanwhile the plugin was fixed and works fine now, but except for en/disabling it, just can't find any GUI for it? Not even anything in about:addons (being a kplugin). Am not asking for any tricks for own use, just on behalf of all clueless users out there ;-)

You are right, and I think that fresh installs are highly recommended to discard new bugs, warnings or errors of any kind. I have decided to always perform clean installs with new non-migrated profiles, and then write protect the startupCache.4.little file inside 'startupcache' folder. All worked better for me after doing these actions. :s

One little question, I see that KMG20180113 useragent is still about K-Meleon/76.0, however, shouldn't it mention K-Meleon/77.0pre or similar? I meant that Firefox/52.9 is also mentioned but it becomes EOL on July 3rd 2018, so IMHO KMeleon 77 should be shown ASAP. I wonder why the delay to be shown. :s

According to the timeline on Sourceforge, the project was registered at 2009-04-24 and was abandoned at date 2010-02-01 with 38,971 downloaded times by now.The 3.4.1 reference is merely coincidence to Goanna 3.4.1, there was no Goanna engine with this numeration at year 2009. Nothing to be worried about imho. :s

- KM 77 RC1 should be released asap before some imposter do.

Me too I love the new k-meleon gonna builds. And up to yesterday I had no problems at all with what website whatsever.

This morning I wanted to subscribe to dropbox and to my great surprise I couldn't - the forms didn't appear at all (also not after a new install).

Has anyone else problems with www.dropbox.com or am I the only one? And if so, how can it be solved ?

EDIT:

It worked with the above UserAgent. After several testings it stopped working and I don't know why.
I deleted the profile folder in vain. I can't make it work again.

Maybe roytam1 or somebody else has a plausible explanation.

it doesn't work. Nonetheless dropbox works fine with Firefox ESR which has exactly the same UserAgent.

You're right, Dropbox seems that is indeed checking the engine.
As soon as I enter a lower version of Firefox Dropbox works.



Those of you who don't want to fiddle with the UserAgent for Dropbox.com, simply add the below line to your user.js file in your profile folder.

user_pref("general.useragent.override.dropbox.com", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:3.4) Goanna/20170101 K-Meleon/76.0");

Thx a lot everybody. Changing the useragent solved the problem. But there is another one now: I cannot download files that are in my folders. This was possible with the dorian builds.

Is there a solution for that?

Dorian's builds were based on Gecko which aren't affected by Dropbox.
Since I have no account there I can't test farther on.
However - what's exactly your operating system? (Help\About K-Meleon)
Make sure that the default UserAgent will be displayed.
Maybe tailoring the modified UserAgent to match your OS can help.

My operating system is Windows 10 version 1709.

Useragent : Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.2; WOW64; rv:52.9) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/3.4 Firefox/52.9 K-Meleon/76.0

And for the dropbox website the useragent you suggested.

@Mala Okeh is right, the default useragent for KMGoanna latest is NT 6.2.

I just override this by written new string at about.config:
Add new string general.useragent.override with the next content
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0

Only explanation I can think of is that something is messed up with your K-Meleon. Maybe you didn't delete the old Profile before making a fresh install or whatever.
K-Meleon's default UserAgent should show the OS it's installed on - like any other browser on this planet.

You can try the following:
* exit K-Meleon
* open the user.js file from your profile folder
* replace the old pref with this one

user_pref("general.useragent.override.dropbox.com", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:3.4) Goanna/20170101 K-Meleon/76.0");

* save changes
* open the prefs.js file from your profile folder
* search for useragent and delete all preferences containing this string
* save changes

Now if you start K-Meleon, the default UserAgent should show your OS (NT 10.0), like other browsers as well.
You can now also check if Dropbox is working for you or still doesn't.
In case it doesn't, sorry but I'm out of ideas.

Yogi, I tried what you suggested. But even with the new appropriate useragent the problem remains the same: I can sign in but not download any file, picture etc.

Can someone who has a dropbox-account perhaps check on that?

Well, finally I tested Dropbox and...

I wasn't able to save file in no one version of K-Meleon (no matter Gecko or Goanna).

Option to open file in app sometimes works, but saving - never.

Error console gives a number of errors (clickable image):



UPD. Even public links are not shown by default for unlogged users (it shows only preview image of shared file - not the file itself and dropbox's GUI (download buttons etc.)

If set pref security.csp.enable to false - it shows GUI and opens dialog but then gives the same errors like logged users are faced to.

Dropbox made some changes in CSP (Content Security Policy) last weeks that led the site not to work now with K-Meleons (as well as PaleMoons as I can see).
[Basilisk (roytam's), Iceweasel and Firefox do work fine.]

We need some big help from roytam1 (and Dorian with kko? or who is that anonymous)

So filepicker fails to initialize, I have to look for it later.

A last bump for this.

The question was not related to Dropbox but for understanding K-Meleon.
It's futile trying to offer help others if oneself lacks basic info...
