Perhaps something is being done wrong.

No. IMHO. I said I have looked. They new one on Firefox addon page
has manifest.json and KM uses old one with manifest.rtf.
So the version for the current Firefox does not install and cannot work.

I do not know enough to make the new addon type install or work.
I have tried this with another addon some weeks ago.sad smiley

So I went down tried to install and picked the newest that installed without fuss.

Moon based browser versions continue to use the old addon API or whatever.

From Your links this one will install and is newest.
https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases/download/1.15.4/uBlock0.firefox.xpi

p.s. Dorian's block is normally not discovered by pages that block people who are using ad blockers.

What is the advantage of silent block? The same?

@Anixx

You repeat your question from December 19, 2017:
http://kmeleonbrowser.org/forum/read.php?19,143253,143981#msg-143981
(functionality has not been broken not then, not now).

I created a totally new profile with new K-Meleon, installed AdBlock into it. Initially all worked. Then I disabled some filters (that break Google functionality). And so now I again have enpty AdBlock settings dialog window.

Notice: under a totally new profile.

Current test version out of the box.
Bluhell can be installed. Wait till... Then install.
https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/bluhell-firewall/
No idea about the others.

Thanks. I was able to install Bluhell Firewall, Ublock and Silent block, adguard would not install.

I must say Bluhell Firewall is the best (for me) and till today it was at 2.5.2 versions and now is the latest version.

Thanks again.

The page displays fine for me with the default UserAgent (KM-Goanna latest build on Win7).

let's go to the russian thread and you'll tell me all your story step by step.

You obviously have no ABP in your profile where screenshot is made.

no, i think is the useragent ! But maybe you are right. None of useragents worked till i updated Bluhell Firewall.

Someone can try with my prefs file in new profile and see what is wrong !

This UA worked until today

Your IP Address is 86.126.186.14
Country of origin: Romania
Your Browser User Agent String is Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0) Ikarus/80 Ikarus/80.0 K-Meleon/76.0

i found it :

general.useragent.override
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 K-Meleon/75.0

That UA gives me the old compact Google.com style and works the flashscore.com and Bluhell Firewall latest.

@KMfan2
- Don't mess with about:config.
If you want to change default prefs use the user.js file from your profile folder. That's what it is for.
- If you want to switch UserAgents search the forum for the guide written by JohnHell. He didn't wrote that guide because he got bored. smiling smiley
- If you want site specific UserAgent overrides look at the example below (put them into the user.js file):
user_pref("general.useragent.override.example.com", "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0");
As for your prefs.js
Sorry, but I won't go step by step through all those prefs.
What I noticed at first glance were faulty prefs concerning UserAgents.
Delete all prefs containing the useragent string (while the browser is closed).
See if it helps.
Otherwise you will have to configure the browser from scratch.
To save some time, you may leave the prefs related to extensions and searches. If it still won't work, you'll have to delete those related to extensions too.

As a side note:
With such an UA Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:38.0) Ikarus/80 Ikarus/80.0 K-Meleon/76.0 you will be unique among all visitors of a site. grinning smiley

If his UA makes him 'unique among all visitors', then would be uncommon UAs a probable security and privacy concern while visiting a site? :s
My current UA is default KMG 20180203 and I still haven't found issues:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:52.9) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/3.4 Firefox/52.9 K-Meleon/76.0

Anyway, which is the most problematic partial string, Goanna/3.4 or K-Meleon/76.0?
PS. This remembers me why K-Meleon/77.0 is still not set at useragent? :s

In this site some Palemoon UAs are shown, with Gecko/2012,2013,2015xxx:

One single question, is 'WOW64;' the same as 'Win64; x64;'?
Firefox UA: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0
KMG latest, UA: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:52.9) Gecko/20100101 Goanna/3.4 Firefox/52.9 K-Meleon/76.0

WOW64 (Windows 32-bit on Windows 64-bit) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WOW64 .
...
It says that Your Firefox is 64-bit, and K-meleon is a 32-bit.

And about privacy? Probably yes. :s

"For people who think that changing their user-agent string or using private browsing makes them anonymous online, beware: it really makes you easy to detect! Rather than becoming anonymous, these "fake anonymous" steps make you appear even more unique. If you really want to be anonymous, it is better to tell the truth and blend into the crowd. (It kind of reminds me of the old joke: All you non-conformists are alike.)".
https://www.hackerfactor.com/blog/index.php?/archives/703-Invasion-of-Privacy.html

I will make some browsing with next UA to see how it works. Furthermore it should be the 'real' UA for KMG according to the goal of the project, shouldn't it?
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64) Goanna/3.4 K-Meleon/77.0

Sites work but the browsing experience is not good. ¬_¬

yes dropping contents in lav*.7z next to k-meleon.exe
and no LAV filters has no hardware(GPU) accelerated, only CPU accelerated routines.

Well, this is the default portable start with default profile:

There is no option to show the search bar in the menu.

I copied the new files to the older installation folder and then the search bar appeared and the extensions such as adblock plus also started working again. Now using it, I hope it will last long.

No there is no "Web Search" toolbar by default since my first Goanna build. URL bar does web search by default.

Whatever one would need a search bar for (?), I can't recall K-Meleon having a search bar.
BTW, which of your older installation has a search bar?

I do not know, but K-Meleon is looking like this now and I use the search bar very extensively (using address bar for search seems to be much slower):

Also, I want to mention that the default settings of AdBlock Plus are conflicting with Google search page (one cannot specify search parameters such as date). So I had to disable the both default subscriptions (RuAdList:Counters and Blockzilla) and add RuAdList+EasyList subscription. I also had to disable the "counters" built-in filter.

Please don't confuse people with unfunded statements. It won't be of anybody's help.
Official K-Meleon builds never had search bars as shown in your screenshot.
Your screenshot was probably taken from the unofficial Pro version which might have an extension for that search bar.

Anixx,

yes, SearchBar Plus is an extension as said by Yogi. Download english//russian

You also can simply take a copy of kplugins\SearchBarExt.dll and place it in kplugins folder of new installation
