In parallel watching your posts on MSFN, involuntarily asked a question: if your PM v.28 already there (based of goanna 4.1, by the way works just fine and does not have noticed problems on the version 28 with some not moderately advanced sites, as sometimes happens on 27th version), and current KM is based on PM, will there be (in near future) KM on goanna 4.1 engine?

Will have a look, but no confidence in porting since changes between 38 and 52 is huge. And IA32(non-SE2) build may be impossible.

"Choose Helper Application" the window for choosing softwares other than the Default one after downloading a file, just freezes K-meleon. I have to then kill the K-meleon process from Task Manager. If a want to open a pdf file other than the Default one then the window just freezes and i am unable to work further.. Help please..

Please redownload KM-Goanna-20180505.7z and replace k-meleon.exe to see if newer k-meleon.exe fix your issue.

There is a problem that was annoying me since long time about not seeing the history of downloads. I thought it was some config option I messed up and I was unable to find. Long story short, lately I ended finding that it was a bug that affected to Spanish language GUI (my native language) since KM 76. I explain it at:

There were some others languages with the error but now downloads history is broken only in Spanish.

I would have opened a bug but the bug tracker allows versions just from 0.9 to 76b4 -- what, I think, makes no sense because the latest versions are actually the ones that need bug tracking (who's going to report or fix a bug for v0.9?).

Once again I noticed an interesting "feature" when saving the page with pictures. Sometimes the page is not written to disk until the browser is closed, although the folder with the pictures is created almost immediately. When you close the browser, the page immediately appears next to the folder of her drawings. Tried to wait until ~10 minutes. Appears only when closed.

Is it possible to make a page appear next to a folder without having to close the browser?

As an example of such a page:

Since this doesn't happen in palemoon, I think this is KM-only issue.
I may have a look but I don't know if I am able to dig it out for a fix.

No idea but just in general, something I noticed in KM1.6: It always bugged me a bit that saving a complete page instantly downloads everything, incl. all the blocked stuff too (scripts + style files etc.) Also noticed it can take awhile until all those downloads are finished, because my connection is slow. Problem is, since KM1.6 I cannot interrupt anything anymore after KM started loading it. The browser GUI is frozen (suspect system bug, but not sure). The only chance is to fully kill the newtwork connection with system method. So sometimes I set the browser offline before saving big pages.
In your case: perhaps a download is hanging? Test if it helps to kill the connection, instead of closing the browser?

A related prob is that blocking anything also does not work when loading something from local disk. Loading from file:/// allows everything too. There must be a permission or pref somewhere which decides that local files can load everything they want. But no idea how to find it, anyone know? There is something with a "fileuri" permission, but this seems to restrict only path access, not element types.

Yes, the setting method of browser works offline! Even after the start of saving page. Then the web document appears without delay (as soon as I enable offline mode). Thanks for idea!

Yes, ABP filters are also ignored. By own experience, only silentblock completely prohibits any calling (no matter online or offline). Unfortunately, in General, when you save pages a lot of evil seeps.

Also when you open already saved pages, only built-in ADBLOCK works, external works ONLY with ONLINE addresses.

When debugging an earlier version of KM76beta, I pointed to an error when saving (empty folders without pictures were created).

I can't confirm with KM-Goanna on Win7. Both items appear instantly.
BTW, I tested with disk cache disabled (my usual setting for browser cache).

By default, cache is also always disabled. But I have tried with both the included cache and the fully standard configuration.

Now specially checked on Win7 and even 10. The result hasn't changed.
Checked with two different service providers.
