What do you think - are these tweaks still valid in Goanna/KM 76 RC ?

Basically most of them, yes.
However it depends on how slow/fast your connection is, if your proxy supports pipelining or how old your OS & hardware is.
Best way to find out what suits you best is by testing.
Some of the prefs are obsolete and you won't find them in "about:config" anymore.

- network.http.pipelining.maxrequests = 100 - this is a very high number, I'd suggest testing with 32 instead and see if encreasing that number will bring any benefit.
- network.http.max-connections = 60 - might still be too low, I'd suggest 128 for testing. This setting doesn't apply only for downloading. The default value in Firefox ESR 52.9.0 is 900!
- network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy = 16, I'd suggest 32 for testing. This setting doesn't apply only for downloading.
* In case of local proxies the same value should be applied as for network.http.max-connections.

KMG77 default network settings are good enough for average ISPs, Goanna engine does its best. Anyway, KM76RC2 Pro by @rodocop has still the best speed/fairness that I have ever seen (I was able to download files at mostly ~50 meters far from a free WiFi point, unable for any other browser). smiling smiley

What is an average ISP? How should one define such a provider?

Is this still actual:

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.keep-alive
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Network.http.proxy.keep-alive

?

Is it worth to add this in about:config ?

Network.http.keep-alive
Network.http.proxy.keep-alive

All my testing tweaks with "network." were not good for me so I decided to use their defaults settings. Both KM76RC2 portable by @rodocop and KMG77 by @roytam1 have good speed performance by themselves, always imho of course. smiling smiley

For more privacy:
"Luckily, with SOCKS5 Firefox can control which side of the proxy handles DNS lookups. By default, it does the lookups locally resulting in the scenario above. To change this, set network.proxy.socks_remote_dns = true in about:config. This makes the SOCKS proxy more like a regular proxy, where DNS is handled by the remote end of the tunnel."

network.dns.disablePrefetch = true
"DNS queries, you can save some kilobytes of transfer by disabling DNS-prefetching and link-prefetching."

I have merged these tweaks for privacy with travelling devices, thank you.

BTW I would to add that using SoftPerfect RAM Disk 3.4.8 (probably latest free version) you can speed up you KM! In SoftPerfect RAM Disk -> Tools -> Settings I advise to check all checkboxes.
The shortcoming is that you have to save all contents to image (by using icon in main window) before logging off. It's really fast on SSD drives.

Good idea indeed. However KMeleon RAM consumption is very low, and considering my further experience with KMeleon Goanna, and currently also with KMeleon 77 Hybrid, I still prefer to set to zero disk cache usage and let it all to the RAM. I will try ram_disk with Chrome to reduce disk activity. smiling smiley
