Saving Settings and Preferences

After reading this I have a question:

"Please delete browser folder (i.e. KM76-Goanna\Browser) and StartupCache
folder in Profile folder before you replace all files!
"

If I delete the Browser folder all my settings and preferences are gone. How can
I save my settings and preferences after downloading the latest KM76-Goanna
update?

Just a little misunderstanding:
not the whole K-Meleon folder.
Only the K-Meleon/browser/.... subfolder.
There are no user settings written in there.

But the prob is, some settings are still lost, because updating KM of course requires overwriting not only that subfolder, but really the whole KM-folder, except profiles. For example all changes in toolbars.cfg will be lost if not copied manually (I never understood why Dorian made KM7x now always open that important original default template file instead of a copy)
That's why it's best to just make a copy of the whole KM folder first, and after updating copy back the customized stuff. Keep the backup until being sure that everything works again as customized.

Thank you siria.

I'll carefully read the "how to update" link you provided.

For my business, I frequently create scripts that perform repetitive tasks. These
scripts save many hours of tedious work. If I can, I'll create a script that will
rapidly restore all my settings and preferences.

Please thank all those folks working on KM76-Goanna. It's a great browser!
It may be a browser with a new engine, but I'm glad to see all the menus, buttons,
and toolbars are the same.
