But does kmeleon work on windows 10?
Or is it incompatible?
Thanks in advance.... smiling smiley

There is no reason why it shouldn't work.
Good luck with Win10. winking smiley

I have KM 75 running on Win 10 on my laptop. I works just fine. I do not really like the UI of Win 10, but once I am in KM everything is great.

Great smiling smiley
Perhaps it's getting time to update a bit this line on the KM Homepage, probably dating from way back when 16bit systems were still common?

But, siria - KM is really designed specially for 32 bit: there are no any special adaptations for x64. Moreover, it seems that KM isn't as effective on x64 as on x32...

So it CAN work there - sure. But it ISN'T designed for it ;-)

Among the 3 browsers (Opera Presto, Firefox ESR and K-Meleon) which I am using for different tasks only one comes with a 32-bit and a 64-bit version.
After testing both versions I opted for the 32-bit Opera Presto. Only scenario I can think of where the 64-bit version might have performed better are online games. Since I'm not a gamer I didn't test.
The below test confirms at large what I've experienced with Opera Presto.

Re: does k-meleon work on windows10? (Favorites in Edge?)

Am just reading slightly shocked (although not surprised) that MS has taken some more drastic steps in robbing as much freedom as possible from their users (if google can, so can they!)

So there is this new browser in Windows10, called "Edge" (what a unique name to google for anything around it *rolleyes*).
It still stores "Favorites", but since last November not as single files anymore, but well hidden in 1 single cryptic database file:

http://www.emmet-gray.com/Articles/EdgeManage.html

How does that now affect the Favorites in K-Meleon?
Would expect that sharing doesn't work anymore, let alone import/export from Edge...?
But am hoping that this doesn't keep KM from handling it's own Favorites 'old style' as usual, with the kplugin?? Then again, am afraid it uses some of those old native IE commands, which may be gone now too... or not?

Just wondering. Will use Win8+ only over my dead body or if forced on the job of course tongue sticking out smiley

That is an interesting find. I have Edge, but only use it for one site once a month. Thankfully I do not have to use that site anymore after last week.

I do not have IE on my Win 10. I did not think that I would need two MS browsers. The Favorites folder and sub folders are still on my system and maintained by K-Meleon. I add items to Favorites with both KM and WScript. I copied my Favorites folder from the previous computer when I installed Win 10.

I did check and one can import the old favorites to Edge. I do not see any way to export from Edge to IE favorites. One can hope that many users will choose IE over Edge, but IE might not be continued by MS in the future.

I did find the 'spartan.edb' file and mine is 2048 KB.

Do you think there needs to be something add to our documentation so that users can find this information more easily than a search of the forum?
