yes, okay, but those less code savy, will naturally click / try the 'Latest Stable Release' before any other version, irrespective of date of release, on the Home page.
Stable usually takes priority in my mind anyway.
Even code savy people would most probably go for a stable release, simply because it's best practice to do so.
The message on the main site is somehow incomplete and confusing. One has to read this forum to get the full picture.
Till K-Meleon 76 RC2 the browser was based on Firefox 38 (Gecko engine).
After years of agony the project got revived by a new developer.
The old shell is now powered by the Goanna engine (Pale Moon 27).
It's labeled as developement release.
To add insult to injury, there is no K-Meleon 77 as suggested on the main page.
IMHO it wouldn't even make sense to label now a browser powered by an outdated engine (Goanna 3.4.1/Pale Moon 27) as a new K-Meleon release.
Nevertheless the K-Meleon 76 developement release is very stable, lightweight and as things are now, maintained with security patches.
