BeOS is in need for a new browser, Kmeleon would fit in nicely coz mozilla is way to slow on BeOS.

kmeleon is based/uses MFC embedded and is programmed using MFC. To port kmeleon to BeOS would require a lot of effort because the developer would not be able to use MFC embedded because it is for the windows platform only.
so it really isn't possible.

its possible but its gonna be a lot of work. the first step would be to design some abstract classes and rip out all the dependency of the microsoft foundation class.. make the code more generic. but the best person for that type of project would be someone who knows programming on both platforms..

with a more abstract design, the code can be ported everywhere...

however,

since it is mfc based, you can cheat with tools to port to other platforms:

Visual Mainwin (port mfc based apps from windows to solaris and linux, but this compiler costs major bux)

Visual C++ 4.0 Macintosh Edition (port mfc based apps to classic Mac OS 7.x for both m68k and powerpc... but this compiler is very ancient.. I got mine by a stroke of luck at a computer fair for $30) heck.. may as well build from scratch with cocoa and objective c.. for os x

to bad there's no product out there to transform an mfc app to beos like visual mainwin does for unix/linux... or is there?
