this is VERY distressing to me because until now I didn't have to use anything but K-meleon for web browsing. Is 128 Bit encryption going to be implemented soon?

I have used K-meleon with a site that requires 128 encrption. The site has previously refused using an non-128 IE5.0 browser.

the problem is the site thinks k-meleon is Netscape 6. Talk to the site people about it.

same here, my ISPs webconfigure program is webbased and needs 128bit encryption which is no problem for K-Meleon - it's the website.

I came across this website today to get some information about K-Meleon, and I think the author of this site knows what your problem is. Just scroll down the page to the K-Meleon section and the International Standards:

I use KM to access online banking with Citibank,
and PayPal.

I just had a look at the FAQ at capitalone.com
-- it states that Netscape 6.0 cannot be used, and ask people
to install an EARLIER version of Netscape!

KM identifies itself as Netscape6 doesn't it? If so, that's the
problem.

It's disgusting. Every secure server I've tried works fine, and
capitalone.com need to be blasted for their incompatibility.
I couldn't find an email address on their site, so I sent an
email to webmaster@capitalone.com.
There are postal/physical addresses though.

So, I believe the answer is to change the browser ID. Go to Edit/Preferences/Privacy, and choose another browser ID in the drop down box in the middle of the page.
