I'm not sure about BeOS, but there is a similar browser for linux, called skipstone:

And if you want a light-weight browser that is not mozilla-based, but still manages to render well quite a few pages, try dillo:

Not to mention the "inspiration" for K-Meleon: Galeon.
Light browser, utilises Gecko rendering engine.
It's available for Linux (Gnome WM) from here:

or you just switch konqueror to the mozilla engine
