k-meleon and WMP

Hey all. I have written about this before in another forum and had no response.. Curious if there is a way to open multimedia files such as wav, avi, mpg, mp3, etc to open in Windows Media Player. I don't want to download them and then open them. When I click a link to such a file I want WMP to open and start downloading/playing the file like in IE.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Maybe your answer is here:
http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/docs/pluginfiles.php
Look for
Windows Media Player Plugin for Netscape
on that page

Did not try this for myself.
Also seems to be an old instructions.

Have a look at the sourcecode (around Line 110) of http://www.kberg.ch/kcr/
the small circle plays an ms-mpeg4 avi. That way its possible to play all Formats, that Media-Player supports. It's kind of a Pain in the a* to make it run on different Browsers and Plattforms.

hope that helps

(Yes you are allowed to use it, I made it - and yes this is a shameless selfplug)

Okay you embedded WMP on a webpage how does that make WMP open when all you have is a link to an avi, mp3, mpg file? You may not get what I am saying. I am going to use VandalL's avi from about for example:

http://www.kberg.ch/kcr/avis/r83.avi

I want to be able to click that link and have it open and download with WMP instead of downloading and the possibly open in WMP. As far as your "sourcecoode" goes If someone running did not have a fairly modern version of WMP installed, your avi would not show on the page. Linux users, for example, would not be able to see the avi. An animated gif might be a better way to go.
