Hi,
I read that the 'auto-apply' behavior of the URL menu bar was changed in 0.8 to work better with wheel mouse. I cant find any preference to make it go back to its old ways.
Can anyone tell me which source files this functionality falls under? A cursory look at the source files did not help.

There's no preference that I'm aware of. Many more people complained when it was the other way. You'll have to hack.

If were to get carried away and add a pref, say, autoLoadUrlBarSelection, what else would I need to modify other than Preferences.h and Preferences.cpp?

I don't know. When it comes to tinkering with the K-Meleon core, I'm clueless. I've never tried to learn that. There may be a couple forum readers who understand how to do that though.
Well,
It looks like I would have to install MS Visual C++/dev studio - that itself is a road block for me :-) It also seems like to build K-Meleon, you would have to build Mozilla as well (at least that is the way the docs read).
