A pseudo-implementation of that feature is included in the updated
Groups & Session macros. It basically uses the same method as the "Open Last Session" macros. I shoulda figured it out in Dec. but was evidently a bit thick at the time. :-)
A couple caveats/features:
1. The current layers are reloaded along with reopened layer.
2. If you accidently "Close All Layers" or "Close All Other Layers" it will restore them.
