cookies.txt and cookperm.txt

Hi,

I'm working on a Privacy plugin and I'm in need of infos about the cookies.txt and cookperm.txt files.

I'd like to delete the lines in cookies.txt that are not refered as "allowed" in the cookperm.txt, but I'm facing a problem about the way domain names are stored in these two files.

ex: I want to allow cookies from http://www.betanews.com and deny those from ads.betanews.com. In cookperm.txt I got :

http://www.betanews.com 0T
ads.betanews.com 0F

But all I got in cookies.txt are lines beginning with ".betanews.com". How can I figure if they come from ads.betanews.com or http://www.betanews.com ?

I don't understand why some cookies are saved with the left part and some others don't.

Does someone have any clue about it ?

PS: the provided url in the files does not help much as it only describes how cookies are transfered via HTTP, not how they are stored in local files.

Argh, the message parser has added unwanted links on my URLs. Please do not consider the "http://"; parts of URLs in the preceding message.
