moin,

K-Meleon?

by the way:
on your page the flash-file 0789.swf is buggy.
If I click on a Symbol/Picture, it dont go further.
Only "Log in" has a Link.

Ah I found it.
You have to click on the name not on the Picture.

Many 404-Errors.

Hate to say it but the developers of K-Meleon (what's left of them) are not even working on K-Meleon much anymore, so you'd be lucky if any of them show any interest in anything else.

btw don't ask what they're up to either, as whatever it is must be better than K-Meleon.

To add to this, I dislike any website with flash in it and rather not use them. Looking at the site I see the flash could quite easily be replaced with html and javascript without much change to the look of it...

Howdy all,
@ Al according to dev list post they are working and waiting for a list from...?
We/Forum probably only need a built with new engine to make one ourself either themes or other people - my opinionated opinion.

@ all
Sebastians k-m menus has the most end user proof features at the moment!
&/but the devs are not likely to read posts here!
and Greetings from Hannover

Well the posting Ulf made is still pretty ambiguous, and doesn't suggest one way or the other that anything's happening really.

The list he refers to is probably something like the thread that Andrew started (here in these forums) but did not follow up on on the mailing list.

Anyhow here is the message from Ulf for anyone who wants to read it:

Some months ago Andrew wanted to make a list of missing features and
present bugs, discuss the list, and wait for Marc, Edwin, Ian and more
to get started with K-Meleon coding (and to decide whether they wish to
work on bugs that other people find important or only with what they
find interesting themselves) and finally have a release when Mozilla 1.7
is out and the list with open issues is gone. I don"t believe in that.
Mozilla 1.7 is already out and we still don"t have a list, or active
developers..

My suggestion is to make that list now but to aim for Mozilla 1.8
instead or go with a Mozilla "only" update now, if people find it
worthwhile. But I"ve never heard back from Jeff or Andrew in that matter.

thx for info - You know better what he means! Beeing English
& knowing him longer!

Guess others had read this too. I understood that he wanted to make at least a compilation because new engine is faster.

I would be sad if he meant something different.

Actually on older smaller pc 1.8 seems a little faster than even 1.7. I hope he knows.

Many people have improved & added macros to Wiki since last built. We should first look what could be of more general use. & make not a list but try to put a menus and so together (like Eyes-Only seem to do now and Sebastian and other themers have done already) which will cover as many of the FAQs
(we had after last browser issue) as possible!

People that do support in Forum and people that have had problems with
things should have a look what is there & which essentials are still missing)
and which wishes are not essential and then all join to make something to present to Ulf.

Sort of this = our wish menus as soon as a 1.7 or 1.8 is compiled.
& provided a dev has time we wold like this or that extra.
But a faster Gecko machine only is o . k. too!
(we all have a job outside and know that time is limited)

p. s. I think the most recent menus antology is by Sebastian - Let us use that - using that saves time - then build in some of the most usefull other things.

p.p.s maybe ask the devs to add Jordans macro exctensions, add Jordans mimtype handler or that from FF and make a thing similar to bookmarks - where we can add startable bookmark/link to exe from our hard-disk - provided this is save to have. my regards

I think the situation may be something as simple as somebody compiling and putting forward the suggestions for the new version from the thread Andrew started, or alternatively enough people saying on the developer's list that a new "engine update" is sufficient. As Ulf has stated, he is no longer working on K-Meleon, however in the meantime one of the other guys might come around. Well we can only hope.

Nobody will contact you if you only give this little info about what you want.
First of all what 'product' are you talking about? K-Meleon? Your website?
How do you want to develop it? etc. etc.
