As some of you are already aware, a second version of the beta is now available. We need people to take the time to download and test this beta. Please download and install this in a completely empty directory. If you discover bugs or have
questions, please provide a full report including steps to replicate your problem and the OS you are using.

The following list of items were fixed from the first version of the beta. Of particular importance are confirming the fixes in the unverified list. If they are not confirmed fixed, the developers will back out those fixes to avoid causing bugginess in the final release. The verified list includes items checked by at least one of the developers. Check them yourselves to confirm that they are really fixed!! A full list of beta bugs and fixes are available here:

Unverified:
* Cache doesn't clear cleanly
* Opening a web-page via CTRL+O opens the file from IE cache
* Close layer button closes wrong layer (this problem was reported as windows version dependent which means that we need more than one tester!)
* Missing Referer Headers (not a single comment on this one. This will be the first item that is backed out if no one says that this "fix" works)
* Save Page As... Problems / File - Save Problems

Verified:
* about: links to relnotes08.php
* Arrow Keys Don't Scroll
* Cut and Copy don't work
* Error message displays when viewing image in its own window
* Javascript Console clean-up
* k-meleon.exe.manifest is not removed on uninstall
* Spelling error in installer

Very nice, most things are working well, no problems yet.
I have one issue however. The default theme is still the old theme, not Phoenity. It would be much nicer if the first theme you saw was Phoenity.

FYI: The beta has made its way to Betanews. ;-(

I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news. Some may have assumed KM was dead. On the other hand, it may get negative reviews because of the bugs. But it is clearly noted as a beta, so I don't know. The screenshot is of 0.8.2 though.

Re. installing K-M:

The current 0.9 beta 2 - installer doesn't create any shortcuts / icons for the browser.

I think that's a but unusual as people expect to be asked where to create a shortcut for the application during installation (desktop, start menu, quick launch).

And if they are not asked they will look in the start menu to find a way to start the application they just installed. I think there should be placed a K-M shortcut. On the desktop maybe too.

I think that'll be put back in when the final is released. For now, if anyone asks, just point them to Tools-Browsing Options-Set As Default Browser

Where can you get the K-Meleon 0.9beta sources? I looked at the CVS and it's way outdated (Well...I can't get anything via CVS from this machine anyway) and I am interested in looking at the source.

Really impresive. Fastest than anyone else

But, what about the "loader". I think it can be a good option to include in the browser even if the user doesn't want to use it, but it's good, and you've it already, you'll only have to make minor changes to the sources, and as I said it really makes K-Meleon faster.

Also something that could change a bit is when you select a bookmark.html file that's made by mozilla or a third party company, when you exit kmeleon, it always ask you to overwrite or not the file (bookmark.html file doesn't hae to be modified to this message appear). I think that Kmeleon could save your first time answer and apply this all the times that this dialog appears.
