Invalid page fault

Hi,

apparently I rode KM 0.9.b3 a bit too hard. During my last browsing session, GDI ressources got all the way to zero and KM crashed the machine. The reset button got me back into Windows but now KM does not start any more.

K-MELEON caused an invalid page fault in
module <unknown> at 0000:36414132.

I assume that something is corrupted in the profile and therefore checked all recently changed files in KM directory. Unfortunately there was nothing unusual for me to spot. How do I get my KM back?

Best

Rolf

You'll have to uninstall and then re-install K-M to get it working again.
What you've described is something that happened to me several ieterations ago and the only recourse was to do a fresh install.

The other thing you could do, is rename the KM file to KM_OLD and then install a fresh copy of KM and then copy over your profile and plugins to the new install.

TransitMan, thank you for your answer. I am not sure this was indeed an installation issue. I was able to start K-Meleon without a crash by removing or renaming the folder of my profile. Therefore I assume that there must have been some inconsistency in the profile.

That said, I reinstalled nonetheless. Now I have the problem of getting my profile back. I changed 'Edit - Preferences - General - Settings Dir' to point towards the old profile folder. That got me back most of my settings but apparently not everything (the setting for the home page for example and I suspect others as well).
