Can you release K-Meleon crossplattform, so that it is as well available for Linux users and MAC =?

K-Meleon is partly based on MFC (Micosoft Foundation Class) & ATL Libaries.
They only exist for Windows. AFAIK current K-Meleon's ancestor mfcembed.exe (a Gecko based little browser example) derived from an example Code called MFCIE that ASFAIRemember shipped with Visual C+ 6.

in order to become the world class browser K-Meleon deserves to be...it, like Firefox, Seamonkey, Netscape and Opera needs to be cross-platform to gain the mass appeal. Maybe using something involving Wine or CodeWeaver or Crossover Office would help. Im far from an expert but would be willing to do my part to help the cause

K-Meleon is not Firefox.
Firefox is built mainly on Xul, which makes it able
to be a cross platform browser.
K-Meleon is different. Xul is not the main base, there
even exist K-Meleon browser variations containing no Xul at all.
As Guenter said : K-Meleon is founded mainly on Windows.
To use is in Linux, the Windows emulator Wine (or the
commercial Crossover) are an necessity.
Nevertheless K-Meleon is (up to now ) very well usable,
and even fast, in Linux, particularly with the specially
adapted versions that you can find om the site for unofficial
versions. If there are possibilities on the Mac platform,
I do not know, but using it in Linux is very well possible.
I use it all the time and am writng this using Linux.
I hope, that future versions with Gecko 1.9 will remain
as stable as at present.

I am not a Kmeleon developer, BUT:
Kmeleon is a gecko based, naive browser for Windows - and that's what it is meant to be. If you look for a gecko based native browser on Linux, use Epiphany or Galeon. If you look for one on Mac, use Camino. If you look for one that is cross platform, use Firefox or Seamonkey. That's the way it is, like it or not... (I like it ;-)

To Fred: I tried to download the tarbell from Rapidshare, but I got an error message that you'd reached your 10 download limit. Would you be able to create a "collector" account on Rapidshare and re-upload the file, or maybe upload to a different service? Maybe a torrent would work better, or maybe the K-Meleon folk would host it on their Sourceforge account?

The 10 downloads limit at Rapidshare.com has been introduced
not long ago, and is annoying.

My new variations with Gecko18118 (KM-NX-18118 and KM-1.02-18118)
have therefore added download links leading to Rapidshare.de,
which seems not to have this limitation up to now, but is
valid only for 30 days without a new download.

I have seen now, that also KM-Linux1.5.1 has been touched by
the 10 downloads limit, and have uploaded it to Rapidshare.de
as well.

Do not forget that his version works only in Linux if you have the files
