CVS

Hi everyone

I think K-meleon has a lot of potential, but there is much work to be done. I have found that CVS is a really terific tool to do exactly that (in a distributed environment). I would like to encourage you all to try it out.

In case you haven't heard, there does exist something called WinCVS. A CVS client for Windows located at http://www.cvsgui.org. I assume most of you are using Windows for daily work/play/hack, so I would like to give you a few hints:

RTFM
Download WinCVS and install it (beta versions 1.1bx work fine). Try checking out the source tree using pserver authentication and the anonymous user.
RTFM
If you are an admin, read the SourceForge 'Win32/CVS/SSH Guide' at
http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?docid=766&group_id=1
RTFM (other FAQs at http://sourceforge.net/docman/?group_id=1 for example).
You can then download the SSH binary at
http://download.sourceforge.net/sfsetup/ssh-1.2.14-win32bin.zip
(the sfsetup project attempts to automate this whole procedure, but only works with Win98).
RTFM
If SSH doesn't work, try logging in from the command line before you use with WinCVS. If all else fails RTFM, it's worth it.

May I suggest that you use CVS to generate some patches and submit them at the SourceForge site (if you are not an admin, that is).

Happy Hacking!

Best regards, Ólafur

I'd love to use cvs, unfortunately it's currently broken.
