Qui trovi il pacchetto italiano per le ultime versioni di K-Meleon

Istruzioni: Scarica i file corrispondenti alla versione di k-meleon che utilizzi ed estraili nella cartella principale di K-Meleon. Poi apri o riavvia il browser, premi F2 > "GUI Appearance" (in cima) e cambia lingua. Riavvia nuovamente. Se hai problemi o riscontri errori nella traduzione scrivi qui sotto. C'è sempre qualcuno pronto ad aiutarti per l'installazione del pacchetto se hai difficoltà e io di tanto in tanto passo per errori nella traduzione.

English Instruction: just download the file corresponding to your version and extract the contents in the main folder of K-Meleon. Then open or restart your browser, press F2 > "GUI Appearance" (on top) and change the language. Then restart again. If you have a problem or error feedback in translation or other write here below. Someone is always ready to help you.

I have to thank rodocop, siria and guenter for help during the translation phases and at any time when I found obstacles.

For now I take the contenent of "de" in local and translate it in italian language. I don't know how to add an attached for this work for now.
I already download resourcing hacker for translate dll files but I can't find FF 38 ESR to download. If you help me...

I download ita pack, extract all file from xpi file but I not understand which folder and files I need and where put they. I try many possibilities but not change. When I press f2 in K-Meleon the language of preferences is ever english.

Unpack attached file into your KM root folder.

Switch to Italian. Open about:about page. You'll see. Visit other about:-pages linked there. You'll see more.

Here your i10n started. Much more work ahead.

You have got only Gecko innards translated. You need now:

1) translate KML part from kmloc76 kit
2) translate corresponding dlls for kmeleon.exe and k-plugins using Resource Hacker
3) get into it.jar in your locale folder (it's actually zip-archive renamed to JAR) and translate there contents of next folders:

• console2
• flashblock
• history
• kmeleon
• kmprefs

Hints:
1) console2 and Flashblock are actually Firefox-addons so you can extract most of it-strings from that XPIs (they are zip-files too).

But look: console2 was modified for K-Meleon so you need create exact localized copy of the basic en-US locale files used (they are now in your locale jar in console2 folder) - so get ensured you'll take needed strings from XPI and make translation of missed strings (entities) if any.

2) it.jar:history\history.dtd could be supposed to be partial copy of it.jar:browser\places\places.dtd.
Just remove unneeded strings from places.dtd (use english history.dtd already in your locale as reference) and move ready file to history folder renaming it history.dtd.
After that you can REMOVE folder it.jar:browser\places.

3) kmeleon and kmprefs folder should be translated manually

Fantastic! You are very helpful! I start work, for now the KML part are just translate and also many dlls using RH. It.jar is ok and are missing "only" console2 flashblock history kmeleon kmprefs.

Now I miss them this: kmeleon.dll, kmprefs and Kmeleon folder. The others are made. But I have two questions:
1) if there is an update of k-meleon to a later version you must redo all this work or you can keep the same file?
2)If I wanted to attach to the message the work done so far (maybe some Italians pass ...) how can I do? I need use an external site like MEGA?

Answers so far:

1) Nope. Most of KM-related parts remain untouched - you can simply add strings to existing kml or dll files or even create new ones adding them to package.

But you will probably be forced to update engine-related (Gecko or Goanna etc.) part of jar-packed locale.

2) Now you can attach files here (max 2 files not bigger than 512kb each per message). Please use 7z-archives with KM folder structure inside (like mine one prepared for you)

Sure, you can use ZIP instead but 7z are simply smaller in usual.

NB!!!

When you translate .dtd and .properties files - in case of partially done job leave untranslated entities in english but don't delete them from file.

If xul-page wouldn't find needed entity in list - it will give you an error, like you were faced with AdBlock Plus - instead of showing needed GUI-window.

But with english strings it just will use them - and it will be obvious for everyone what part of undone job remains. (maybe someone would like to help you someday).

Sorry I find Your thread so late. Sorry.

Download the ancient K-Meleon 1.1.6 (18.07.2008) 7z and You can re-use the strings that are still usable e.g. from kml (most). Some strings are new in the current version but not all. The same when You resource hack the dll.

Many things from the chrome can be taken from corresponding Firefox (You did that already) or extensions. And You have only to add a few new K-Meleon specific strings to e.g. console2.

old chrome kmprefs strings reside in

E:\TEMP\K-Meleon1.1.6it-IT_locale.7z\chrome\it-IT.jar\kmprefs\locale\it-IT\

but You have to translate the things added or changed since that time.

There used to be a script that repopulates the empty strings of the new kml with translated ones from an older kml. I will look if I still have it stored.

When you translate .dtd and .properties files - in case of partially done job leave untranslated entities in english but don't delete them from file.
If xul-page wouldn't find needed entity in list - it will give you an error, like you were faced with AdBlock Plus - instead of showing needed GUI-window.
But with english strings it just will use them - and it will be obvious for everyone what part of undone job remains. (maybe someone would like to help you someday).

Download the ancient K-Meleon 1.1.6 (18.07.2008) 7z and You can re-use the strings that are still usable e.g. from kml (most). Some strings are new in the current version but not all. The same when You resource hack the dll.
Many things from the chrome can be taken from corresponding Firefox (You did that already) or extensions. And You have only to add a few new K-Meleon specific strings to e.g. console2.
old chrome kmprefs strings reside in
E:\TEMP\K-Meleon1.1.6it-IT_locale.7z\chrome\it-IT.jar\kmprefs\locale\it-IT\
but You have to translate the things added or changed since that time.
There used to be a script that repopulates the empty strings of the new kml with translated ones from an older kml. I will look if I still have it stored.

THank you guenter. I have download K-Meleon 1.1.6 and there are in it.jar many things I can take already done. Unfortunately all .kml and .dll (except kmeleon.dll) files I have already translated them by hand but it will be very useful for kmeleon.dll, kmprefs and kmeleon folders.

I have update first post with the work done so far and the possibility to download it.

Update: I have translate kmeleon.dll in italian but now all toolbar return in english, why? It seems that he does not read all the work done on the kmeleon.kml file.
If I put back original kmeleon.dll everything is fixed. I attach dll if you think there are errors of various kinds

1) Have no glue about this, sorry.
2) It's because of pref layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled.
In official RC is set to true (default GRE setting) - and in Pro-build this is toggled to false to solve that 'black page blinking' problem
3) That was available in KM75 but we cannot reproduce the same level of integration in 76 as things got different and our master of AdBlock integration (naruman) left the forum suddenly after preparing his KM 74+1.

We just can hope that someone would be able pick up that flag and we'll get AdBlock in full strength someday. Or maybe Wladimir Palant will finally create new KM-version of AdBlock Plus when we can prove our lizard is alive and developing.

Speaking about kmeleon.dll - try attached one. I've fixed differences between old (1.1.6) and modern (76) versions there, deleting some outdated resources and adding some missed.

If this would work properly - you'll be forced only to translate strings in sections
2052
2057 (and then change language for both - now it's left 1033 for visibility)

as well as new strings in section 3892 of String Table.

Thanks rodocop. I was worked with this and thanks for fixing my dll, now work very well. I'm sorry that some good programmers have left, I'm new and I believe in the lizard!

What little I can do I share. I have a hand with chalk so I have time (no work and no car) also arranging adblock for the Italian language without errors: I add this in the first post.

A new Update! It's missing only the folder: kmeleon

with accents is a mess, but I learned how to make them (in Italian there are everywhere ...)

I finished! I translate yhe folders in it.jar (console2-flashblock-history-kmeleon-kmprefs), the KML part and dlls for kmeleon.exe and k-plugins.

Is there anything else to do? I'd like to share it on the download page too, are there any other steps for this?

I have a lot of time available because of my injury. Above all, I found a lot of work already done in version 1.1.6. already translated that guenter has suggested to me.

Now that you asked to try on KM 75 I found another couple of problems solved (updated the zip on the first post) and others that I can not solve: In km76 about: permissions and about:webrtc they give a white screen (phenomenon that there is also with other languages) but in KM75 about: preferences and about: support they give me error XUL. Tomorrow I will try to fix also for KM75.

to fix that error for KM75 you'll need langpack for FF31 (and replace corresponding folders inside it.jar)

Also tried your locale with KM 76 Pro - the about:permissions works fine.

And in official builds (as well as new Goanna) the page about:permissions itself is missing.
This was fixed in Pro-build.

And WebRTC engine isn't supported by KM so the empty page isn't a glitch but a feature ;-)

What would be best of course is if Dorian copies it into the official KM "files". But not sure when that will happen, considering he's here only rather rarely and short.
Then again, perhaps not so bad if the pack can 'ripe' a bit longer, there may be some more little glitches inside which only show up during regular use. That's normal.

So for the moment I'm considering to just add it as a separate link right to the KM75.1 and 76RC versions on the download page. Hoping that's okay for Dorian, or rodocop/guenter etc.?
But everywhere else people will overlook, seeing the other languages are all contained in the 7z already. My link would go right here to this thread.

Perhaps the best thing is a new and clear treadh called, for example, "Italian language pack" with 3 post: one for locales_it for KM76, one for locales_it for KM75.1 and one for adblock in ITA. And an other post with a link to this discussion, It is informative. What do you think?

Hey I completely missed to notice you have this already finished! Sorry! And long since, oops. Because the last post was only "edited", therefore no "new" marker in the Recent-Messages Link.

First post looks good to me, great (cannot tell anything about the contents of course). Would perhaps just add the file size after the links too, tiny 0.3MB

Thinking about it, perhaps make the first post bilingual, en+it together?

Important: Shouldn't roytam include this too in his Goanna-build, like the other languages already? Otherwise it could get forgotten too easily! Hm, assume that means he has to store it in the official sources github? No idea.

(PS: And personally would prefer to please not appear in the thanks-to line, because contrary to guenter and rodocop I really couldn't help anything for the translation itself or even the process, merely first pointers where to start looking for infos)

"Always ready" for the problem with install the translation. I'm there for the translation. I pass every so often because the "follow topic" does not work for me either.

Thanks for this. It would not be nice to be forgotten. I hope he inserts it into his project. To contact him I need writ in goanna topic (or Send a private message but he will not receive the email alert) or are there other ways that you know?
