KM-17alpha-S2012 experimental

I have unofficially updated KM-17 alpha to Gecko 1.9.1.17/date 20110301
from the brand-new Seamonkey 2.0.12 (from Seamonkey Tinderbox).
Note : This version needs the 80's runtimes. Download MSvce8dist.exe from
http://jujuland.pagesperso-orange.fr and install it.
The profile will be created inside the K-Meleon folder. If in Linux you want it inside
the ".wine" folder, because of user rights problems, rename the file profile.ini to profile.ini-renamed
before the first start.
This is just a proof of concept, not a polished final version, so some things may not work yet.

Regards to all

I think this is K-Meleon 1.6Beta and not K-Meleon 1.7alpha.
You can look k-meleon.exe version show 1.6.0 and not 1.7.0.
Also 1.7alpha is based in Firefox 3.6.x because this use Gecko 1.9.2.x and not Gecko 1.9.1.x from Seamonkey 2.0.x.

@ Fred:
Where are you download the Seamonkey Tinderbox version?
Lately Seamonkey Tinderbox are also packeted in a big exe file as nightly and release and don't have all dll modules.

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/tinderbox-builds/

Before I could use the files from "comm-1.9.1-win32/" folder, but now we only can use it from "comm-1.9.1-win32-unittest/".

You are right. There was an error when copying
the exe.
I have renamed now the uploaded zip to KM-17-old-alpha-S2012.zip
(containing still kmeleon.exe from 1.6 beta), and I have
uploaded a new KM-17alpha-S2012.zip, containing the
correct kmeleon.exe from KM-1.7a2.
Download still

http://kmext.sourceforge.net/fred/KM-17alpha-S2012.zip

needing 80's runtimes. Download MSvce8dist.exe from
http://jujuland.pagesperso-orange.fr and install it if
it is not already present in the system.

@ desga2 :
I downloaded the files from tinderbox March, 3d , and
as far as I remember, still from "comm-1.9.1-win32/".
I presume, that the first tinderbox builds in a new
version cycle still have the separated dlls, and that
later they are being combined and integrated all
into a big seamonkey.exe.
As the older builds are replaced continually, they
are not available anymore for download.

Fred

desga2, I can build GRE 1.9.1 from source with Dorians "mozkm1.9.1.7z" patch and files if You need it. I have a working Mozilla-Build, SDK 7.1 & Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2 for the needed mfc and atl files and VC8 SP1 Express compiler. I can also install the commercial VC8 tools in German.

Still it was better than 1.6b. Recommend you update 1.6b to whatever engine was in this build before! Or was it just my imagination ??? I will try the 1.7alpha this week.

Fred, can you develop a KM-17alpha-S2013 release?
Seamonkey 2.0.13 just recently came out.

This seems to be only a minor security update.
As far as I can see, it concerns only a single problem of
less trustworthy https sites, which would be added to an
existing list of other fraudulous https sites.
I am not even sure, if this mechanism is working
in K-Meleon.
I will update my variations, but it does not seem
to be an extremely urgent matter. It is not listed
as a critical vulnerability. The update to seamonkey 2.0.12
had seven critical flaws, the one to seamonkey 2.0.11 even nine.
