New unofficial version: KM-16-S2013
Posted by: Fred
Date: March 26, 2011 06:58AM

I have uploaded a new unofficial updated variation KM-16-S2013.
from the brand-new Seamonkey 2.0.13, Gecko 1.9.1.18 (Thanks to Guenter).
The profiles folder will be created inside the K-Meleon main folder,
and should leave profiles from other versions untouched.
If, when in Linux, you want this folder inside the wine configuration directory because of property rights problems, rename the file profile.ini inside the K-Meleon
main folder to for example profile.ini-renamed before the first start.
Note :
Note : This version needs the 80's runtimes. Download MSvce8dist.exe from
http://jujuland.pagesperso-orange.fr and install it.

Download from here :

Regards to all

Runs great. Has become my de facto default browser. Uses less resources than Km 17

wrong, jmillar. GRE 1.9.1.19 is on FF 3.5.19, NOT on FF 3.6.
FF 3.6 uses GRE 1.9.2.x, in this case FF 3.6.17 uses GRE version 1.9.2.17.

note to Fred: since Firefox 3.5.19 and Seamonkey 2.0.14 was recently released, can you make a KM-16-S2014 release? thanks in advance.

I have uploaded a new unofficial updated variation KM-16-F3519.
from the updated Firefox 3.5.19, Gecko 1.9.1.19.
I have based it on Firefox, because Seamonkey Tinderbox has only
builds with the dlls from the folder components
integrated in seamonkey.exe, which is useless for me.
Look for it in my new thread.

It does not matter for 1.9.1 anymore whether from FF or Seamonkey, since K-Meleon's GRE is now build in ./comm-1.9.1/mozilla and that is where the FF & common GRE components are.

I have now also uploaded a new unofficial updated variation KM-16-S2014 ,
based on Seamonkey 2.0.14, Gecko 1.9.1.19 , thanks to Guenter, who
has provided the necessary Gecko.
Look for it in my new thread.

Oops! Slipped up there. That's (probably) the reason it runs better on older machines, with less demand on memory and/or processor. :-) War on bloat and planned obsolescence is part of KMeleon's 'genetic code'. ;-)
