I have uploaded to Rapidshare a new unofficial version :
K-Meleon1.5a2-Linux-18112 .
This is an adapted variation of K-Meleon 1.5a2 ,
usable in Linux together with wine , or also in Windows,
updated to Mozilla 1.8.1.12 using Gecko/20080203,
from Seamonkey 1.1.8.
Note :
* In Linux the URL bar is only usable with more recent wine versions.
If you are using an older wine version, use the URL button to open an URL prompt.
* Real Tabs are now implemented. Tabs are now usable in Linux too, while
Layers were not working well.
* Sessions and Groups are not yet implemented in this Linux variation.
* Bookmarks only in the menu up to now.
* Many additional Search Engines in the menu bar, opening in a new window.
* Additional Javascript button to enable and disable javascript.
After changing permissions for javascript, reload the page.
* Keyboard shortcuts:
Page back : (right)ctrl + left arrow
Page forward : (right)ctrl + right arrow
Close Window : (right)ctrl + down arrow
Go to home : (right)ctrl + up arrow
The profiles folder will be created inside the K-Meleon main folder by default.
If, when in Linux, you want this folder inside the wine configuration directory
because of property rights problems, rename the file profile.ini
inside the K-Meleon main folder to for example profile.ini-renamed
before the first start.
Note :
This version works only if you have the files msvcp71.dll
and msvcr71.dll in your system or in your K-Meleon folder.
If you need these dll's, look for them in the internet .
If necessary in Linux, copy the files manually to the K-Meleon main folder.

I have uploaded an unofficial updated version K-Meleon1.02-1.8.1.13 ,
Mozilla 1.8.1.13 from Seamonkey 1.1.9, Gecko 20080313 ,
for all who prefer the older build of the browser in Windows.
Updating is advisable for people who still use this old 1.02 build,
to avoid security risks.

I have uploaded to Rapidshare an updated unofficial no-Xul version :
K-Meleon-NX-18113 .
This is a simplified version of K-Meleon 1.x ,
usable in Linux together with wine , or also in Windows,
updated to Mozilla 1.8.1.13 using Gecko/20080313,
from Seamonkey 1.1.9.
Look and feel are similar to the earlier 0.9 versions.
The NX No-chrome concept is used here. Thanks to Hao Jiang and Dorian.
The browser is very fast, because Xul is not used.
Note : Flashblock, Aggreg8 and other extensions are not included in this
no-chrome version. No autocomplete as it causes problems in Linux.
Ad-blocking by userContent.css and hostperm.1 .
Many useful search engines have been added.
The profiles folder will be created inside the K-Meleon main folder by default.
If, when in Linux, you want this folder inside the wine configuration directory

Spanish K-Meleon Custom Patch (updated on February 10th, 2009)

Since K-Meleon is officially available in spanish, this is no more a spanish translation patch but a generic modifications patch.


The patch contains the following modifications:


* By the file Prefs.js (in Defaults\Profile):

1. Unlimited RAM cache (K-Meleon just takes as much RAM as it's needed).
2. IE Favorites plugin enabled.
3. Opera Hotlist and Netscape Bookmars plugins disabled.
4. Favicons visibility extended.
5. Opening maximized.
6. URL bar autosearch enabled.
7. Links called from external programs now opens as new layers.
8. Links trying to open as new windows now opens as new layers.
9. Home page set to El Mundo (a spanish newspaper).
10. New windows open at Spanish Google .
11. Klassic skin used by default (see skin modifications below).
12. Toolbar background image enabled.
13. Disallow javascript to redimension windows, modify status bar and deactivate context menus.
14. Pop ups about encrypted pages warnings disabled.
15. Passwords storage disabled.
16. Automatically close download windows when completed.
17. Tool bar locked.
18. Google Translate defined as default translation engine.
19. Creation of a new session called "Programas" (programs), containing links to the official home pages of some software of general interest.



* By the file Accel.cfg (in Defaults\Profile):

1. Middle click opens links in background instead of in foreground. Just like IE 7 (but faster).



* By the files contained at Skins\Klassic:

New look by using a modified version of the Klassic skin, including:

1. The background of the tool bar now looks in a lizard green colour.
2. The main ico is the old one but with a spanish flag in the background.
3. The old fashioned reptilian throbber from earlier K-Meleon versions has been restored.

K-Meleon Wechselbalg {1.8.2+}

This is not a current build. It remains as one of the best K-Meleon builds ever produced, and is still considered to be the fastest K-M for some purposes.

It is mainly of historic or collection interest.

Wechselbalg was a co-operative, unofficial creation by a number of friends, all experts. Many of them continue to be active on this forum.
