Based on Mozilla 1.8b2 nightly of june/30th/2005 I have
updated K-Meleon0.9-1.8b2-modified6 .

This is probably the last possible update using the
current k-meleon.exe for 1.8b2 because the file xpcom_core.dll
has been changed for the start of the new Seamonkey browser
and k-meleon fails to start in the july versions. For new
updates we will need a new k-meleon.exe for 1.8b2 .

Runs only from CD which is drive D:
No files will be written on the harddrive.
Unzip the zip file into a fresh folder on your harddisk and burn only the folder ProgramFiles3 and its contents on a CD. Click on k-meleon.exe in the folder K-Meleon09 and the plugins installation will start.
You can prepare a homepage.html, bookmarks.html and opera.adr on a floppy disk, if you have access. When you are asked for it, after starting the browser, search for the path to it on your floppy. If you do not have bookmarks, click on the empty bookmarks/opera in the K-Meleon09 directory.
There will be no history and no cache.
Groups do not work.
Ads are not blocked.
Some other menu items may possibly not work.

K-MELEON v0'9 (EJ v1Â’1):

1 – Características.

Esta compilación está estructurada sobre la versión 0’9 oficial, de la cual se diferencia en lo siguiente:

-Motor Gecko (GRE) y chrome actualizados de la versión 1’7’5 a la 1’7’12 (última disponible), lo cual soluciona bugs y problemas de seguridad.

-Set Default actualizado para corregir el leve fallo encontrado en la versión oficial que afectaba al registro de Windows cuando se instalaban más de una versión de K-Meleon en el mismo equipo. También se ha corregido la adjudicación de iconos de extensiones relativas a K-Meleon.

-Traducción casi total del programa al español. Los archivos “Menu.cfg” y “Macros.cfg” han sido totalmente traducidos, mientras que el chrome y el archivo “Accel.cfg” se han traducido en su mayor parte.

-Modificación de los archivos “Macros.cfg” y “Menus.cfg” para que se ofrezca la posibilidad de abrir enlaces multimedia directamente en el Windows Media Player (WMP) usando el botón derecho del ratón sobre cualquier enlace. Esto resultará útil a aquellos usuarios que tengan como reproductor multimedia predefinido uno diferente al WMP y que no sea capaz de abrir este tipo de enlaces (por ejemplo el Winamp).

-Modificación del archivo “Accel.cfg” para que al pulsar sobre un enlace con el botón medio del ratón (el de la rueda) este se abra en una capa detrás (en segundo plano) y no en una capa nueva (en primer plano).

-Modificación del archivo “Prefs.js”, de configuración general, introduciendo cambios tales como la desactivación del gestor de contraseñas, el uso del Google español en lugar del internacional, la activación de la opción de búsqueda automática, y otras variaciones de menor importancia como el uso del skin “Klassic” o la modificación de la página de inicio por defecto.

-Creación de un grupo de páginas (“Programas”) con enlaces (no patrocinados) a las páginas de varios desarrolladores de software de interés general.



2 – Instalación.

Simplemente ejecuta el archivo Win ZIP auto extraíble “K-Meleon v0’9 (EJ v1’1).exe” y extrae su contenido en la carpeta que aparece por defecto. Si deseas que K-Meleon sea tu explorador por defecto utiliza el menú “Herramientas \ Opciones De Navegación \ Definir Como Navegador Por Defecto” desde el mismo navegador, o utiliza el archivo “SetDefault.exe” que se encuentra en la carpeta principal de K-Meleon.
