I have uploaded to Rapidshare a simplified version of
K-Meleon 1.x, usable in Linux together with wine,
or in Windows, updated to Mozilla 1.8.1.2 using Gecko/20070222 .
New chrome thanks to Guenter.
Look and feel are similar to the earlier 0.9 versions.
This is a mini version, that has been requested, with only
the minimal necessary features, to keep it a small as possible.
No mouse gestures and only containing the Phoenity skin.
Flashblock is included, but not Adblock , No Script , Aggreg8
and Active X Support.
I have uploaded to Rapidshare a zipped version containing
dll's and exe compressed with upx, and a 7z version containing
uncompressed dll's and exe.
Download of zipped upx version here :
http://rapidshare.com/files/21716701/K-Meleon-Linux-mini-upx.zip.html
Download of 7z packed no-upx version here :
http://rapidshare.com/files/21717406/K-Meleon-Linux-mini-noupx.7z.html
Note :
Your profile will be created in the main K-Meleon folder.
If, when in Linux, you want the profile inside the wine
configuration directory because of property rights problems,
rename the file profile.ini inside the K-Meleon
main folder to for example profile.ini-renamed before the first start.
This version works only if you have the files mfc71.dll,msvcp71.dll <br>
and msvcr71.dll in your system or in your K-Meleon folder.<br>
If you need them, they are still available under the name
dll-installer on the KM 8.2 website at :
http://www.lontronics.nl/index.php?m=0006
This will install the files on your system .If necessary in Linux,
copy the files manually to the K-Meleon main folder.
AskProfile bug is fixed.
History must be deleted manually.
A javascript button allows enabling and disabling javascript.
Reload the page after using it.
When used in Linux with Wine:
It's preferable to use "windows only" mode without layers for
better stability.
It is not advisable to use groups of more than 3 or 4 websites,
better use no groups at all to avoid browser failures.
A minor flaw, that has not been fixed yet, is that the URL
bar sometimes won't change to show the actual URL after clicking links.
If fonts should not work in wine, copy fonts from your
windows installation to the " .wine" configurations folder,
to the folder"fonts"and restart the browser.
Certain instabilities should be tolerated when K-Meleon is used in Linux.
