I have uploaded to Rapidshare an updated version of
my old unofficial "plus" variation containing Adblock,
NoScript and Active X support, called now

K-Meleon-LinuxUsable-18112-plus

This is an unofficial variation of K-Meleon 1.x ,
usable in Linux together with wine , or in Windows,
updated to Mozilla 1.8.1.12 using Gecko/20080201
from Seamonkey 1.1.8.
Look and feel are similar to the earlier 0.9 versions.
This version includes the extensions AdBlock and NoScript.
Active X support when used in Windows is also included.

Download as zip file at :
http://rapidshare.com/files/96630910/K-Meleon-LinuxUsable-18112-plus.zip.html
or as tarball for Linux at :
http://rapidshare.com/files/96631399/K-Meleon-LinuxUsable-18112-plus.tar.gz.html

The profiles folder will be created inside the K-Meleon main folder.
If, when in Linux, you want this folder inside the wine configuration directory
because of property rights problems, rename the file profile.ini inside the
K-Meleon main folder to for example profile.ini-renamed before the first start.

Note :

This version works only if you have the files msvcp71.dll
and msvcr71.dll in your system or in your K-Meleon folder.
To use IE Favorites you would also need mfc71.dll,
If you need them, look for them in the Internet.
If necessary in Linux, copy the files manually to the K-Meleon main folder.
# History must be deleted manually.
When used in Linux with Wine:
# It's preferable to use "windows only" mode without layers for better stability.
# Using groups in Linux in this version is not recommended, in order to avoid browser failures.
# A minor flaw, that has not been fixed yet, is that the URL bar sometimes
won't change to show the actual URL after clicking links.
# If fonts should not work in wine, copy fonts from your windows installation to
the " .wine" configurations folder, to the folder"fonts"and restart the browser.

Added Features
# Adblock extension, toggled from the toolbar.
# Noscript extension.
# NoScript button toggles NoScript,
# Right click context menu for NoScript contains :
Allow javascript for this page for session, Block only for this session,
Add and remove from list of allowed pages.
# Block Flash, Java or Plugins from NoScript.
# Note : For NoScript functions, Javascript must always be enabled
in the Preferences panel.
# Active X Support can be enabled, when used in Windows, but as a default
only for Windows Media Player.
# Active X Support can be disabled/enabled from the browser menu.

# Keyboard shortcuts:
Page back : (right)ctrl + left arrow
Page forward : (right)ctrl + right arrow
Close Window : (right)ctrl + down arrow
Close Layer : (right)ctrl + up arrow
Go to home : (right)shift + up arrow

Like the browser, but, where is the javascript toggle button? and when you click (right or left) on the Adblock Preferences, nothing happens. Using it on Win XP Home SP2.

The javascript button is not necessary.
To have Noscript working, javascript must be enabled all the time.
If you do generally not want javascript, you have to press the
button S , which then will change to a red crossed S.
This means, that you have to give permission to sites, where
you want to allow javascript, right clicking on the
page > NoScriptOptions > Allow for the session or "Add to whitelist"
to allow it permanently for the site.
Reclicking on the red crossed S will will change the S back
to silver, which means : Javascript allowed to all sites.
The Adblock Preferences button should open a layer containing
the Adblock Options (or a popup, when in Windows only mode).
This allows adding a new filter.
Adblock is enabled by pressing the Adblock button.
Disabling Adblock for a site may be sometimes necessary to view a
Flash movie which is regarded as an advert and is blocked.
Reloading the page may be necessary then.

Then something is wrong, as I said, when I click on the "Adblock" or "Preference" ( a left click or a right click) nothing happens and when I hover my cursor over the "S", it is identified as "Adblock Preference in the drop down (that's why I asked where was the "toggle button". Just curious', is anyone else experiencing this?

Clarification on the Adblock, when I said nothing happens, I'm refering to the option drop down, there is none. The javascript button works, but the drop down shows is it as Adblock Preference.

Did you create a profile inside the K-Meleon folder by
keeping profile.ini as it is (renaming it would use your
basic profile from earlier K-Meleon installations for 1.1.4 etc ,
which would not work correctly probably).
Concerning the dropdown options by right-clicking the AdBlock
button, I think that we did not implement them in this early
Adblock adaptation, but only the few ones visible in
Options on the Preferences layer, that means importing/exporting.
The dropdown on the S-Button should work ok, or also the
NoScript options at the bottom of the right-click context menu
on the page.
The Adblock button is basically only for disabling/enabling Adblock.
I made a new download and the basic functions seem to work ok in it.
The Preference button should open the layer, as well as the option
AdBlock Preferences in the dropdown right-clicking the Adblock
button. Remember this is not the Adblock 2 extension, but the
earlier Adblock version.

I used a brand new profile, as I do whenever I try out the different versions of KM (saving only the plugins folder, bookmarks and the downloader scripts that you were so kind to provide recently :-)
