Updated old version : K-Meleon1.02-1.8.1.13

I have uploaded an unofficial updated version K-Meleon1.02-1.8.1.13 ,
Mozilla 1.8.1.13 from Seamonkey 1.1.9, Gecko 20080313 ,
for all who prefer the older build of the browser in Windows.
Updating is advisable for people who still use this old 1.02 build,
to avoid major security risks.
Download at :
http://rapidshare.com/files/103444135/K-Meleon1.02-1.8.1.13.zip.html
Note : The profile will be created in the K-Meleon main folder
by default.
Regards to all

The 1.02 version does not include a session plugin,
and the one from 1.1.4 would not work.
So reopening a closed window seems normally not
possible.
What is possible on the other hand, is closing the
browser, restarting and restore the last opened
group of layers that you had before closing the
browser. You can find this option in the menus
File or View > Home. For doing that, the groups plugin
is sufficient.

How can you turn javascript on/off in this version?

zoohooter,
One way is to enable the privacy plugin and then toggle (click) on the Javascript icon to turn it on and off as you need it.

The Plugin was already enabled, but I didn't have it visable on the Toolbar. That's okay, but I surely don't want all of those icons visible all of the time. Thanks for the reply.

In some versions with the old macros structure,
where this shortcut is not yet included, but could
be enableded, simply add at the bottom of accel.cfg :
VK_F7 = macros(JSToggle)
After a restart of the browser, the shortcut
should be available.
In browser versions 1.1 and higher, which have
the new macro architecture, I have not yet checked,
what the shortcut should call up.

What I did was to Edit/Configuration/Toolbars
Once in notepad, I would comment out SOME of the icons used in the privacy plugin so that it no longer took up an entire line. I then dragged the remaining set to the second menu bar with the forward and back icons. (I only have two bars active.) After putting everything where I like it, I then went to View/Toolbars (toggled the Privacy Bar) and locked the toolbar.
I currently use Images, Java, JavaScript, Popups, Cache, History, URLBar and KillFlash out of the available mini-icons used in the Privacy Plugin.

VK_F7 is the name of the F7 key.
But you can of course use every other key,
or any combination of keys, as long as
it is not already occupied by another
function of K-Meleon or a systemwide function,
which could lead to confusion.
Don't use a key combination that appears a
second time in accel.cfg .

Seamonkey 1.1.10 is not out yet.
And there are no known exploits in the wild yet.
So there is no hurry for an upgrade, but I will
try to bring out one for 1.02 in a while.

Fred,
Thanks. Figured you'd have to wait for new Seamonkey. Let's see if there are exploits in the wild soon or not.
Tks for the info.

Thanks for the information.
I will update my browser variations and, if this is still
demanded, also KM 1.02 to gecko 1.8.1.17 in the near future.

Fred,
Would very much appreciate the update as I am still struggling with unidentified errors in the new macro language. Caveat: but only when I try to update old KM 1.0.2 macros to KM 1.5. Some of the errors are not obvious ones and you have to be able to decipher them line by line wherever they appear. Tools to make this process easier are also greatly wanted!
